Virgin olive oil - facilitates intense exercise with no more pain

Hi All,

As context, I have made a number of posts here explaining my 2 year journey using every trick in the book to recapture a very active sports lifestyle in my mid to latter years. I would love to prove that I can live pretty much the same life I would have had without the hashi situation.

I had thought with my pretty nasty hypo symptons that flared over 5 years ago this was not possible but each further stone I seem to upturn unearths a further hack to progress things further i.e. an exciting journey I never thought was possible.

I am now back to hitting high consistent weekly running mileages for a marathon in May 2025. The nasty thing about hashis is the way magnesium gets shredded so quickly and any attempt to train day after day with 5 to 10 mile runs is met with nasty aches, pains and night cramps. So you end up backing right off, progress is poor and you give up. So I have had the same NY's resolution that has quickly been broken and the marathon attempt pushed back into the long grass.

This time around, with all the lessons I have learnt here about supplements for hypos and the need for high protein, high quality fat style meditarranean diet and the intense resistance and plyometrics work I have been doing I was still missing one vital ingredient.

The vital hack is a daily dose of a desert spoon of virgin olive oil every morning.

Yesterday I knocked out a 19km pacey run which normally would lead to a few days rest due to pain and I wake up today as if nothing had happened ready to keep training.

As with everything, the effects are unique to all our specific situations, but crikey I would love someone to have pushed me into this a few years back when I used to run a lot more seriously and had constant pain and injury.

There are tons of articles about this for those who like data and science e.g.

womansworld.com/wellness/pa...

Bryan Johnson an American social media guru who is trying to use his wealth to live "forever" with his 100+ supplements a day and the rest said recently if he was only allowed one supplement it would be virgin olive oil.

If everyone here has already cottoned onto this and I am late to the party then I can only say well done to all those who worked this out a lot earlier. Pleased to be joining the party as they say...all comments welcome...

Thanks for sharing. Is this in addition to olive oil already in our diets i.e I use a fair bit of it on salads and to cook with.

Also how much magnesium are you taking if you don’t mind me asking?

yes to the first question for me - perhaps we all need to titrate individually though?

I have been taking this for a few years now and I am very ill. I still take it Organic cold pressed virgin of course and I could be worse without it.

My problem was the change in the NDT formulation.

I used to be a runner, swimmer in the day right up into m sixties now I can't get up of the floor without help. But Hey Ho without the Olive Oil I could be worse.

It's good of you to post the details, it should be from Italy if possible they have the old volcanic soil to grow the trees in.
