Has anyone experienced crying spells when starting cytomel 5 mcg in addition to Synthroid 50 ? Wondering if there is a correlation.

crying spells cytomel
You are taking low doses of Levo and T3 so likely you are under replaced which is causing the symptoms.
Can you share your latest blodo results along with their reference ranges please?
Have you tested and now supplementing key vitamin levels - ferritin, folate, B12 & D3?
TSH 2.4 (0.400-4.1) uiu/ml
Ft4 1.15 (0.8- 1.90) ng/dl
Ft3 2.0 (2.2- 4.2) pg/ml
Reverse t3 23.5 ( 9-27) ng/dl
Ferretin 71 (13-200)
Iron 99 ( 37-145)
Shbg 114 ( 17-125)
Estradiol 197 pg/ml
Testosterone 26 ( <55 mg/dl)
Free testosterone 1.9 (1.5-5.8)
Taking compounded estradiol cream twice a day
Compounded testosterone twice a day
Symthroid 50
Just added cytomel 5 .
These labs were drawn prior to starting cytomel . I was on compounded t3 5 for 3 weeks when these labs were done. I was asked to hold hormones and thyroid medication prior to testing at 8 am.
I don’t know if my symptoms are from thyroid or hormones. It’s been a lonnnnggggg journey . So tired of feeling emotionally unstable and physically unwell.
Suggest you get B12 & folate + D3 tested and start a new post with the results.
Your FT3 will be a false low as recommended timing between last T3 dose & test is 8-12hrs. It only has a short half life, so next test delay your dose to allow that timing.
Your FT4 is only 32% through range. Most people would need that to be up around 70% so I suggest you ask for a 25mcg Levo dose increase.
Ferritin should be around 90 - 100 for best use of thyroid hormone. Suggest increasing iron rich foods in diet and eating them often. Chicken livers, pate, red meat etc

As I suspected you are under replaced, also likely to have low vitamin levels that you can work on.
Recommended blood test protocol: Test at 9am (or as close as possible), fasting, last levo dose 24hrs before the blood draw, last T3 dose 8-12 hours before blood draw & no biotin containing supplements for 3-7 days (Biotin can interfere with thyroid blood results as it is used in the testing process).
Testing like this gives consistency in your results and will show stable blood levels of hormone and highest TSH which varies throughout the day. Taking Levo/T3 just prior to blood draw can show a falsely elevated result and your GP/Endo might change your dose incorrectly as a result.
