Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test
If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal
2 a week I took 5/capsules over 2 and a half weeks I took 5 of 14 Capsules
Had to stop due to chronic side effects which started Day one.
Hives, chronic Insomnia and itching Numb and Painful hands and feet which have still got. Nausea and constipation. I have had a lot of falls and just been diagnosed with osteoporosis
When this all began the doctor I could have Hashimotos, Celiac which I haven’t had a test. Now I have a doctor who says I just have sub-clinical hypothyroidism, and she wants me off levythyroxine. I have tried twice and all the symptoms came back and more. She is ringing 7th January and she will say the same thing that she wants me off them. As you know SlowDragon I have been fighting my doctors for two years. She doesn’t want me on the tablets. My husband spoke to one of the other doctors asking if I could see an endocrinologist. He said no and so did the doctor who said it could be Hashimotos right at the start. I have had covid pneumonia itinerary and put in hospital and had to have a Cataract surgery in June this year.
Is range correct on Ft3 …..usually it’s 3.1- 6.8 at many labs

These are all hypo symptoms
Hives common with autoimmune thyroid disease
Correcting low vitamin levels can make hypothyroidism more obvious
Most people when adequately treated will have Ft3 at least 60% through range
50mcg is only standard STARTER dose
Levo doesn’t top up failing thyroid, it replaces it
So it’s ESSENTIAL to be on high enough dose
Next step get retested including all four vitamins
Meanwhile
Suggest you start taking a daily small dose vitamin D mouth spray
You might find my profile helpful I couldn’t tolerate any vitamin D until I took daily magnesium for 2-3 weeks BEFORE restarting vitamin D
once you have full thyroid and vitamin test results look at seeing thyroid specialist
Here’s link for how to request Thyroid U.K.list of private Doctors emailed to you, but within the email a link to download list of recommended thyroid specialist endocrinologists
Ideally choose an endocrinologist to see privately initially and who also does NHS consultations so that might eventually transfer to NHS
