Hi

Are you able to give ranges for those results?

What symptoms have you been experiencing as side effects?

Do you mean 20,000 or 2,000iu ?

There are so many things it could be. So your answers will really help.

TSH was 0.06

FT3 was 5.0

FT4 was 17.0

Please add ranges on Ft4 and Ft3

Was test early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

High thyroid antibodies confirms cause of your hypothyroidism is autoimmune disease

Have you had coeliac blood test as per NICE guidelines

Request GP test folate, B12 and ferritin too

Or test privately

vitamin D needs retesting

How much vitamin D are you now taking

Test twice yearly when supplementing

Can test via NHS private testing service

vitamindtest.org.uk

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Post all about what time of day to test

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Testing options and includes money off codes for private testing

Medichecks Thyroid plus BOTH TPO and TG antibodies and vitamins

medichecks.com/products/adv...

Blue Horizon Thyroid Premium Gold includes BOTH TPO and TG antibodies, cortisol and vitamins

bluehorizonbloodtests.co.uk...

Medichecks and BH also offer private blood draw at clinic near you, or private nurse to your own home…..for an extra fee

Only do private testing early Monday or Tuesday morning.

Tips on how to do DIY finger prick test

support.medichecks.com/hc/e...

If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test

If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal

Ranges on 29/11/24 were

FT4 17.0 NR 7,7 - 20.6

TSH 0.06 NR 0.30 - 4.80

FT3 5.0 NR 42 - 6.9

Blue Horzon Results of antibodies on 9/10/23

Antithyroglobulin 80 NR 115

Anti thyroid peroxidase 41 NR 34

Vitamin D 4/7/7/2024

Each capsule contains 20;000

2 a week I took 5/capsules over 2 and a half weeks I took 5 of 14 Capsules

Had to stop due to chronic side effects which started Day one.

Hives, chronic Insomnia and itching Numb and Painful hands and feet which have still got. Nausea and constipation. I have had a lot of falls and just been diagnosed with osteoporosis

When this all began the doctor I could have Hashimotos, Celiac which I haven’t had a test. Now I have a doctor who says I just have sub-clinical hypothyroidism, and she wants me off levythyroxine. I have tried twice and all the symptoms came back and more. She is ringing 7th January and she will say the same thing that she wants me off them. As you know SlowDragon I have been fighting my doctors for two years. She doesn’t want me on the tablets. My husband spoke to one of the other doctors asking if I could see an endocrinologist. He said no and so did the doctor who said it could be Hashimotos right at the start. I have had covid pneumonia itinerary and put in hospital and had to have a Cataract surgery in June this year.

Free T4 (fT4) 17 pmol/L (7.7 - 20.6)

Ft4 72.1% through range

Free T3 (fT3) 5 pmol/L (4.2 - 6.9)

Ft3 only 29.6% through range

was last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Is range correct on Ft3 …..usually it’s 3.1- 6.8 at many labs

Had to stop due to chronic side effects which started Day one.

Hives, chronic Insomnia and itching Numb and Painful hands and feet which have still got. Nausea and constipation.

These are all hypo symptoms

Hives common with autoimmune thyroid disease

Correcting low vitamin levels can make hypothyroidism more obvious

Most people when adequately treated will have Ft3 at least 60% through range

50mcg is only standard STARTER dose

Levo doesn’t top up failing thyroid, it replaces it

So it’s ESSENTIAL to be on high enough dose

Next step get retested including all four vitamins

Meanwhile

Suggest you start taking a daily small dose vitamin D mouth spray

You might find my profile helpful I couldn’t tolerate any vitamin D until I took daily magnesium for 2-3 weeks BEFORE restarting vitamin D

once you have full thyroid and vitamin test results look at seeing thyroid specialist

Here’s link for how to request Thyroid U.K.list of private Doctors emailed to you, but within the email a link to download list of recommended thyroid specialist endocrinologists

Ideally choose an endocrinologist to see privately initially and who also does NHS consultations so that might eventually transfer to NHS
