The brand name "Cytomel" is used (legally) for at least two very different products. It is also used very widely as if it were a generic name for liothyronine (T3).
Very often, people have little choice about which product to get and end up simply accepting the one, or one of a few, they can obtain. Few have experience of more than a very small number of products.
