I have have ordered Thai ndt for about 8 years. For the last 3 years - thyroid s from same supplier.

My latest batch took 7 weeks to arrive (tracked). Plus it has been carefully opened with knife on its journey. It had been carefully repacked and delivered by Royal Mail. There was no attempt to hide that it had been opened.

The supplier said customs do this (the customs label says has a tick next to the ok to open box.)

I’m surprised it was allowed through customs., although it is a natural product rather than medicine?

Has this happened to anyone else?

Some years ago I bought a bottle of supplements (legal in the UK, and not prescription-only) from abroad. I can't even remember what they were now. There was supposed to be 100 capsules or pills in the bottle, but when I received it the package and the bottle had clearly been opened. I went to the trouble of counting the contents and one was missing.

For several years I bought NDT from abroad until the price rose so much, and thankfully my packages were never tampered with. I would guess it could feel a bit invasive ☹️, and as if you haven’t enough to put up with!

We are allowed to import NDT as long as it’s for personal use.

Hi I haven't been able to find a reliable source of ndt I'm in uk used to purchase it before Lockdown, I'm in uk would like to go back to ndt is there any help with this at all . Customs do open them from time to time .

You can't buy prescription NDT in the UK, but you can from abroad. It used to be very common for members to buy their own but now less so as prices have risen and suppliers keep disappearing.

There is no customs charge until over £135 (I think) so some members assumed customs were less likely to intervene if their package worth was less than this. However, I always bought more and never had issues. If you write a new post asking for suppliers, members will advise you of their source by DM.

I’ve never had any opened. I did get hammered for import duty for some naturethroid (no longer made😢) but it’s quite legitimate to import for personal use.

Customs may open anything at all. Sometimes you will know - sometimes not. And they might use technological approaches like X-rays which would not leave any evidence.

Personally, I'd prefer they did as described, an obvious opening and careful re-closing. (Or ignore it!)

I do remember a post on the forum from 2 or 3 years ago (I didn't keep a link) from someone who had ordered T3 and it had been destroyed by customs as being illegal to import. The implication was that the customs officer who sent it for destruction didn't know what he or she was doing and thought it was a controlled substance, although it was unclear exactly what his or her reasons or motive was.

The problem in that situation is that destruction seemed to have taken place very quickly and there is no appeal, and I felt sorry for the person it happened to.

Yes - I remember that. And it simply must have been against their proper operating rules. But almost certainly very difficult to fight against.

Mine come labelled "vitamins". The USA ones (years ago) were often opened and charged customs, but the Thai ones have always come straight through (touch wood!).

No not to me and I have been ordering Thyroid s for about 8 years now. I have also ordered Armour from the US with no problem but was charged on the customs price.
