I have pretty bad anxiety and insomnia on 125mcg levo/10mcg lio, (or 150mcg levo monotherapy earlier), but I used to sleep through the night on 3 grains of NDT. Doctors think the opposite should happen: more T3, more anxiety, less sleep. Does anyone know why more T3/NDT could actually help with sleep? Is it because adrenaline/cortisol are trying to compensate for the lack of T3 (it seems my T3 needs to be in the upper half of the so called "normal" range to sleep through the night), or is it something in NDT, or something in synthetic T4/T3 that actually causes this counterintuitive difference?

T3 or NDT to help with insomnia?
Hello, thanks for your message.
Difficult to say for sure, can be sex hormones too. Can be cortisol.
What are your most recent thyroid blood test results?
Might be worth reading a bit of PaulRobinson about this. I am ploughing through his books again and his book about recovering with T3 he says quite a bit. I think he seems to think taking T3 too late in the day can cause insomnia but on the other hand there are quite a few people on the Forum who swear by their T3 at night and even during the night. Back to a bit of experimenting on how to take your dose to find your own personal tweaks. We all seem to have them.
I think more t3 - better sleep was true when I was under-replaced.
I am pretty sure now that as things have settled I might be slightly over replaced now.
I am pretty sure this is causing insomnia issues. Or it’s disrupting my cortisol/adrenaline responses, which is disrupting my sleep.
blood test next week to get more info!
All I can add is that my dreams on NDT are a lot more colourful and vivid, to the extent when I wake I am so disappointed!
