Low tsh

Hi, I'm currently taking 125mcg levo and reduced my t3 from 15mcg x 3 doses of 5mcg, to 10mcg spit into x2 doses of 5mcg.I have recently had covid and had to reduce my t3. However my anxiety and palpitations have decreased as a result, but still im not quite right.

My question is does low tsh cause anxiety and palpitations?

My recent (October)tsh was 0.008 when I was on 15mcg t3 and 125mcg levo, prior to covid I felt great. I'm due a blood test in April, will post results then

TSH doesn't cause symptoms whether it's high or low. That's not it's job. It's low FT3 that causes symptoms when too high or too low, because it is the active hormone needed by every single cell in your body to function correctly. TSH only affects the thyroid gland itself, stimulating it to make more thyroid hormone.

If it's any consolation, I had it 5 weeks ago and my anxiety hasn't settled yet either. I was.doing really well before the infection. Covid does increase anxiety and depression in some people. Maybe it's as a result of the virus and you need to just give it a bit more time?

Suggest you retest 10-12 weeks after dose reduction

When did you last test vitamin levels

It is unlikely that low TSH can cause anxiety. Low T3 will definitely cause anxiety. I have had a suppressed TSH for over 20 years now and only had experienced anxiety when my T3 was not optimal or when was suffering from lots of stress.

I think the new Covid variant can cause anxiety in some people and also depression. This can also be exacerbated by lack of Vitamin D, as we head into winter now, how are your levels? Or are you going through a stressful period at present?

Hi my vit d levels are very good ( i follow Judson Sommervilles advice on high dose vit d. )As is my folate, ferritin and b12, although my b12 is a bit high and I don't supplement.

Not going through a stressful period, but my symptoms state otherwise. Maybe it is the dastardly covid hanging around. I'll buy a test and post results in next 10 weeks, just to see what my current levels are,as suggested by Slow Dragon.

It's funny that after a chat I can see things much more clearly🌸🌸🌸🌸
