free t4 level 21.9(12.0-22.0)

Free t3 serum free triiodothyronine 5.2(3.1-6.8)

Serum tsh level 0.5(0.3-5.5)

Can anyone interpret please. Have to wait three weeks to see my dr. Feel tired still after dose was reduced, but not sure if this shows my dose is still too high. Thankyou

Free T4 (fT4) 21.9 pmol/L (12 - 22) 99.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 5.2 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 56.8%

T4:T3 Ratio 4.212

So you might feel better with a small reduction which could well improve your conversion, what is your current dose?

Hi..my currrent dose is 75 mcg..I was on 100 mcg every other day but I do feel more tired now that I’m just on 75 mcg.

It can take a couple of months for a dose change to settle, are your vits & mins optimized, could it be the seasonal drop in Vit D needs a top up?

Compared to your last results on 75/100

free T4..level 23.0 pro/lL (12.0-22.0) above high ref limit

Serum tsh level..0.05 mix/L (0.3-5.5)

Free t3.. level 5.5 pmol/L (3.1-6.8

The decrease hasn't had a dramatic effect on your levels

So do I need to reduce the level again..I think I felt better on the higher level but have had a lot more stress lately so that could be the tiredness and not sleeping so well. Do you think my dr will lower the dose to 50 mcg. I know you can’t say for definite but just wondering what will happen when I do see her. Yes I do take vit d and multivits every day. Thanks

I'd probably say hold tight where you are until everything else settles down... if the Dr requests a further reduction I would refuse and then when things have settled if you want to make a very small reduction like 5 x 75 and 2 x 50 a week without the Dr breathing down your neck you can do it when you feel up to it 🤗

was test done as recommended…..early morning, ideally before 9am, only drinking water between waking up and test ….and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Which brand level are you taking

Do you always get same brand at each prescription

Exactly what vitamin supplements are you taking

Are you lactose intolerant that you are taking Teva?

Teva upsets many people

Do you always get Teva?

Tried any other brands

CarolMSM in reply toSlowDragon

No I’m gluten intolerant … yes I have had different brands..no probs there

.I take levothyroxine at night before bed.

If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test otherwise last dose levothyroxine is too close to blood draw and Ft4 result will be falsely high

If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal

Did you adjust dose so that last dose was 24 hours before test

Multivitamins never recommended on here, as they almost always contain iodine. Your levothyroxine contains all the iodine you need

I take Melissa dream sometimes at bedtime and then levothyroxine.

Levothyroxine should always be at least 2 hours away from any other medication or supplement

Ok..thanks for your advice…will follow.

No I didn’t adjust the dose before my last test.

Free T4 (fT4) 21.9 pmol/L (12 - 22) 99.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 5.2 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 56.8%

So Ft4 is not actually as high as test result suggests

If had left 24 hours…..Ft4 would have been lower…..perhaps 18-19

CarolMSM profile image
CarolMSM in reply toSlowDragon

And what would that mean..I don’t understand the meanings

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator in reply toCarolMSM

If you had adjusted last dose levothyroxine to be 24 hours before test Ft4 result would have been lower …..so Ft4 is probably not too high

I’ll make sure I do on my next blood test but I won’t be having one before I see the dr in three weeks so not sure what she’ll say.
