Hi, I have been on T3 and T4 for a few years and have been doing ok. 18 months ago I moved to Devon and registered with a new GP. They changed my T3 tablets to Teva hard capsules as they are significantly cheaper. I have noticed very painful stiff legs which I get when I am under medicated AND I had when I was issued Teva T4 (which is a known issue for some people), Teva branded T4 has a "do not issue" note at my chemist. I wondered if anyone knows if the Teva brand T3 capsles could contain the same ingredient at their T4 that makes me poorly? I am waiting for a medichecks home test to arrive so haven't yet got results to post only how I feel. π΅βπ« Thank you.

Teva T3 symptoms
I'm a bit confused do you actually mean Roma hard capsules? I thought Teva T3 are tablets, no they don't contain the same excipients as their T4 and most get on well with them whereas some really don't like Roma even though they don't have any of the unpleasant excipients some don't like the capsule and open them then mix it into water instead

Quite right, TiggerMe - am pasting my full information links below.
ALL ingredients are identified in ALL UK-approved thyroid hormone medicines in my UK document.
helvella's medicines documents (UK and Rest of the World) can be found here:
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines
helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world. There is now a specific world desiccated thyroid document.
I highly recommend viewing on a computer screen, or a decent sized tablet, rather than a phone. Even I find it less than satisfactory trying to view them on my phone.
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines - UK
The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrixes for levothyroxine tablets, oral solutions and also liothyronine available in the UK. Includes injectables and descriptions of tablet markings which allow identification. Latest updates include all declared ingredients for all UK products and links to Patient Information Leaflets, Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (dm+d), etc. PLUS how to write prescriptions in Appendix F.
Also includes links for anti-thyroid medicines (but not product details).

Thank you, I blame brain fog lol Yes I have Roma capsules not Teva as I said in my post. I can only assume it's the T3 capsules making me poorly as I take 100mcg Levo at bedtime then my 1st 10mcg T3 when I wake and go down hill from there. After my 2nd 5mcg T3 at 4pm I get worse and can barely get up the stairs. I will talk with my GP to see if I can get the tablets again.
Try, as suggested, following the instructions in the Patient Information Leaflet about taking contents without the capsules themselves. Not ideal, but would possibly help for now.
Also, for all such issues, for all makes, please submit yellow cards:

which brand and dose of T3 did you have before changing to Roma capsules
Itβs MUCH CHEAPER to get 20mcg tablets and cut into 1/2 and/or 1/4βs
Use sharp craft scalpel to cut

Brands available are
Teva - lactose free. But Mannitol free too
Mercury Pharma - loose in a pot. Contain lactose
Morningside - blister pack. Contain lactose
Morningside. My endo MIGHT agree to doing this, I will ask when I see him next but as it's not coming out of his budget Hampshire, I live in Devon) so he might not care!
So if you were getting Morningside 10mcg or 5mcg tablets they are ridiculously expensive compared to 20mcg tablets
How much in total are you taking per day?
Easy to cut 20mcg into 1/4βs
15 mcg, have been on hard capsules for a while but getting worse and worse, happy to save the country money but not at expense of my own health - doing my own bloods is costly enough.Did my 4pm dose loose, on a spoon, so far I can still walk so I am hopeful
Just pm.ed you about fact I just discovered I canβt absorb some capsules/ casings so no contents reaches blood stream.
