I previously posted some side effects I'd experienced when I was changed to Morningside lio after 14 years on Mercury ie; strange vivid dreams, sleep disruption, mild headaches and so have swapped to Teva for the past few days but the side effects persist. The Morningside should be out of my system now so I am concerned my brain chemistry may have been permanently altered but what do I know? My accountant told me he gets the same symptoms from statins which I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. My GP assured me she would specify Mercury on my presciption but when I picked it up only Teva was the named medication. Cheapskates.
Anyone else suffering side effects with Morningside or Teva? I just want a decent nights sleep.

I was doing famously on Mercury Pharma Lio. Then the pharmacy began to give me Teva Lio and I went downhill fast. I asked my pharmacist to make sure I was given only Mercury Pharma and she told me it was a ‘very expensive drug’ and I should be pleased I was getting it at all. I tartly told her I was well aware of the cost but needed it to keep me well and healthy. I also told her that there are literally pennies difference in the cost of MP, Teva and Morningside Lio. I got a phone call a couple of days later saying my MP Lio was waiting for me at the pharmacy. I wouldn’t touch Teva with a barge pole! I was also very, very poorly on Teva Levothyroxine before I managed to get prescribed Lio.
Thanks for your reply. Yes I've met pharmacists like that too, you should remind them your custom is keeping them in a job and perhaps they'd like to share their opinion on your medication with the CEO of their company. I've just been researching some other comments on Teva and how it seems less effective. Did your TSH levels alter? I feel pretty energised, just a bit groggy from the sleep disruption.
I didn’t get my tsh levels tested. I just knew I felt worse when lots of horrible symptoms came back. I’ve also been taking Low Dose Naltrexone for the past six weeks and it seems to be having a very positive effect.
Hello, I just sent you a personal message, hope you don't mind. Yes I know what you mean, you can feel when you've dropped out of range. I shall keep a beady eye on this Teva stuff, TFT due next month. Never heard of Naltrexone but it's worth a try, glad to hear it's working for you.
My gp specified Mercury on my prescription and I had to go to different chemists to find one who would honour it. Boots agreed. Why settle for another brand if it makes you feel ill? Morning side gave me awful acid reflux. Couldn’t take it for more than a few days.
Thanks for your reply. I agree, if I've been okay on Mercury for 14 years it's in their interests to keep my condition stable. I even e-mailed Mercury as so many chemists tried to fob me off saying they couldn't get Mercury and they told me their supplier is Alliance. So if your pharmacy uses this supplier then they can get it, Lloyd's for example can. Now you mention it my acid reflux has been bad lately too, I have Barrett's but I put it down to having a beer when Spurs secured a top 4 place.
Hi pffft. Many side effects with Teva meds-not just the levothyroxine. Refuse to accept them anymore. My pharmacist knows this and doesn't fill my Rx with Teva. But I check before leaving the pharmacy counter just in case. Take care. irina
Thanks for your reply Irina. After just 2 days on the Teva liothyronine ( T3 works almost instantly ) I awoke this morning ( no weird dreams thankfully ) to find puffy bags under my eyes and a gain of 3lbs in weight yet I'd worked my socks off yesterday and no change in diet. Back to the Twilight Zone dreams for me then until I can get some Mercury Pharma.
