Dear members,

I am lost,I need help. I have hashi and hypo. 6 weeks ago I switched medications from 50mcg for 7 days Tirosint to 75mcg Tirosint for 5 days and 2 days 50 mcg.

My results on 50mcg/7 days

TSH 0.036 (0.27-4.20)

FT3 3.75 ( 3.1-6.8)

FT4 16.80 (12-22)

My results on 75mcg/5 days/50mcg 2 days

TSH 0.272 (0.27-4.20)

FT3 3.50 ( 3.1-6.8)

FT4 13.30 (12-22)

I am upset about worsening my results, what can happend please? What changed is I started do eating for my leaky gut and my antibodies TPO improve in 2 monts from 177 to 140 :) (range under 36)

I am worried what to do. I have no change in symptoms. To be honest, I havent any symptoms I just find out it accidnetaly.

Appreciate your help. :)

I am not clear about is how your test day relates to your doses?

Did you get tested after two days of 50?

If you had five days of 75, followed by two of 50, and only then were tested, I'd not be surprised at the results.

Your body had five days of getting used to a better dose, then had a third of it taken away.

After two days of that, it had a fifty per cent increase for five days.

That is what I tend to call heavy-handed prescribing. Why could they not have suggested 62.5 for seven days? See how it goes for a few weeks, and then increment further, if appropriate.

Some of us do not like doses going up and down like that. For example, I was much happier on 112.5 every day than alternating 100 and 125.

Hello :) in was on 75/5 days and 50/2 days for about 7 weeks results is option 2. I am not aware that I can get tablets with 62,5mcg. My worries are that I am not higher dose and my results are worse

Tirosint is potentially available in a wide range of dosages:

Capsules: 13, 25, 37.5, 44, 50, 62.5, 75, 88, 100, 112, 125, 137, 150, 175, 200 mcg

I don't know where you are! You have not put your location on your profile and I couldn't see anything obvious in your posts.

I agree that 75 micrograms every day would likely be better. But even within your current prescription, I wouldn't want you on 50 for two consecutive days. And testing after being on a steady dose would probably make more sense.

It’s worth asking if you took the tests under exactly the same conditions:

How many hours before the test was your last dose of Levo for each?

What time were each of the tests done? Had you fasted for both?

24hrs after last dose

Well - you have no symptoms. So that’s great.

I agree with the steady dose every day approach. With 2 days on 50 and a 7 day half life - it would be impossible to figure out exactly which part of the arc you were at when the second test was taken - was it at the point where two consecutive days at 50 hit and your bloods were at that low, before catching the up wave when you took the 75 again? No way to tell.

When I titrate to a higher dose, I will take a few weeks to alternate up. The l. When I hit consistent I wait another full 6-8 weeks to test.

Not what you're looking for?
