I was diagnosed with Graves and overactive thyroid forty four years ago. I had a thyroidectomy and started on synthetic thyroid hormone therapy. I’m 69 now and take 100 mcg of Levothyroxine daily, my TSH is 0.291, low. What dose should I be taking?

For what reason are you questioning the dose you need to take? Do you have remaining symptoms?
often doctors only test TSH but to really know how much thyroid hormone you have and if you are converting it well into T3 then we need to see TSH, FT4 & FT3. You can buy a private test that will show these levels.
When hypo we get low stomach acid which means we cannot absorb vitamins well from our food, regardless of a great diet. For thyroid hormone to work well we need OPTIMAL levels of vitamins.
Have you recently or could you ask your GP to test levels of ferritin, folate, B12 & D3? Private tests are available, see link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/testing/priva...
There is also a new company offering walk in& mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...
Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.
the most important thing…how you feel!! If you’ve no hypo/hyper symptoms and feel fine then that’s fine,
