Hi everyone I wanted to ask a question, I am putting off getting my bloods done for a few more weeks as I am on my 4 th week of 25tiromel and 100 levo, as I have no thyroid at all I was wondering what dosage of both work best for most, I know we are all different but just to give me an idea. I actually had to lower my dosage of Levo quicker than suggested as I was feeling definitely over active, now on my fourth week in on the above dosage my heart is definitely racing and I may be still over active but I plan on doing bloods for thyroid in a couple of weeks. So unless I have other issues til then I won't change dosage or should I lower levo. What advice would you offer, thank you.

Hi, how’re you taking your medication? Are you splitting the T3 dose? That might help if you’re not doing that. By the way, we always say over medicated rather than hyper. They’re 2 different things.

I tried that regime recently having changed from T3 only & my blood test showed over range T3. You could be completely different but it might be worth dropping the t4. Might be worth testing first too! Depends how bad you feel.

Did you introduce the T3 slowly? Or all in one go?

Hi Bertwills thanks for your reply, I introduced slowly quarter tab once then quatre twice daily and then last 2/3 weeks full tab of T3 daily, I did reduce my levo by 50 a day, I will do my bloods in a couple of weeks, I don't want checking too early cos I can't afford so often. What amount of each do you take.

Ok, so you did start slowly which is great. I’m not sure from your reply if you are now splitting your T3 dose during the day. If not that could be very helpful to do. I find I can get a racing heart & palpitations if my T3 drops too low, it’s not always racing because the dose is too high, it can be for too low a level too. It can be confusing.

I’m testing tomorrow. I’m now taking 100mcg T4 & 10mcg T3. I didn’t used to convert well but on my latest test the T3 was too high so I’ve reduced.

No I don't split cos I sometimes forget to take it but I might try this. Yeah so I think I should test nxt week, I just need to activate my tests, I have them and all. Thanks Bertwills. I Didn't think I might be unmed, cos I feel good and energy good but the bloods will reveal. So I will get them done..

That's was meant to be under medicated.

Remember that T3 has a short life in the body, only a matter of hours. If your T4 dose isn’t converting well you may start to feel under medicated if you T3 level starts to fall.

Ok I will remember that. I will get my bloods done to give me an idea where I am at so, to know if I am under or over
