Good afternoon to you all.

I wonder if someone would comment about my recent blood tests please? My GP ordered the tests as I'm having signs of pancreas problems due to three IPMN pre-cancerous cysts which are in my pancreas.

T4 15.8 (10-22) I am taking 2 grains of Thyroid S daily

TSH Abnormal (0.01) It is always low, so no change there!

Haemoglobin A/C 38 (25-41)

My Red blood count was slightly higher than the reference level. My Ferritin was 49, which is low. I having been eating iron rich foods, but this just gives me too much iron in my blood & doesn't improve my Ferritin levels. . Does anyone know a way around this?

Just testing TSH and Ft4 is completely inadequate, especially when taking any replacement thyroid hormone that contains T3

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test

This gives highest TSH and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

On NDT or T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Thank you for the reply. I was going to get a complete thyroid test done privately, but thought I would wait until I have started a new batch of thyroid S, which I will soon be taking. I did have the blood test done early in the morning & will do so next time too.
