Hi

Advise or suggestions please most welcome

I added T3 ( 1/4 dose ) and these are my results 4 weeks later

Initially I felt great , warmer more energy less brain fog and warmer feet for first 2 weeks then not so great second 2 weeks ?

is it time to add the extra 1/4 T3 as suggested on my last post ?

My TSH & T4 didn’t really change only increase my T3

thanks in advance

How much is a quarter of a tablet? Which tablets do you have and how much Levo are you taking?

4 weeks is too soon to test levels as there wont have been time for the dose to settle. Recommended 6-8 weeks retest after dose change. These results will not be accurate.

How did you take this test?

What time of day? When did you taske last dose of Levo & T3 before the test?

Free T4 (fT4) 20.3 pmol/L (11.9 - 21.6) 86.6%

Free T3 (fT3) 5.04 pmol/L (3.4 - 5.9) 65.6%

On combination therapy one generally aims for 70% through range for both FT4 & FT3.

How are your vitamin levels?

What supplements are you taking?

hi

Apologises I Didn’t make myself clear

I take 125 mg tirosint and 1/8 dose of T3 ( cut a 10mg tablet into 8th ) split dose at 8am & 4pm day before testing and no tablets prior to test at 8am

You mentioned before adding in extra dose of T3 to make it 1/4 dose so 5mg daily ?

Firstly thyroid medicines are measured in micrograms, so mcg for short. If you were taking mg's then you'd be very ill. :D

So the blood test was too soon but it should be OK to move up to 1/4 of a 10mcg tablet twice a day which would mean taking a total of 5mcg a day.

Have you added in a B complex? I'm not sure if you had comments on your last vitamin results.

Yes I meant mcg 🙄

I take 1 iron and Vit D

Endocrinologist happy with my vitamin levels

Just checking if it was best to stay at 125 tirosint if I up T3 to 5 mcg

Be sure to take iron 4 hours away from Levo or T3. Take with ornage huice or anything with vit C to help absorb.

Endocrinologists have no nutritional training. Best to post your vitamin results here for comments.

Yes stay at 125mcgs levo and add the 2.5mcgs T3.

According to your last post you should be on a B complex. B12 & folate are too low and not optimal.

B complex suggestions: Slightly cheaper options with inactive B6:

amazon.co.uk/Liposomal-Soft...

Contains B6 as P5P an active form:

I’m taking 3 Arrows Iron which has Vit B12 & folate as recommended so hoping that will help

I’ve tried taking other B vitamins and they don’t make me feel well !

Firstly iron should be taken away from everything else becuase it prevents absorption of things taken with it, so its unlikely you will absorb anything else packaged with it like B12 & folate.

Secondly, the doses of B12 & folate included with that iron product are pretty low and wont be enough to get you to optimal levels.

Lastly if you have only ever tried methyl vitamis=ns then it would be good to try non methyl vitamins. There are genes that determine which one suits you best.

This B complex is methyl free: supplementhub.co.uk/product...

Yes I do take my iron separately 4 hours after thyroid meds

thought 3 Arrows were highly recommend on here ?

Will look at those others recommended too and then see where my levels are when I retest before starting anything else

Many thanks

The Three Arrows iron only is recommended.

For B12 & folate a B complex which can be taken 4 hours away from iron is recommended.
