There are TWO dedicated thyroid calculators available and both are linked from a pinned post. Some members might prefer one to the other. The post also explains how to get the results from the calculators into posts/replies very easily.
many members find they need BOTH Ft4 and Ft3 at least 50-60% through range
You’re only on very low dose Levo
You may need more Levo and less T3
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test
Is this how you do your tests
Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 too
Hi slowdragon thank you so much for your reply .. yes I am a coeliac I don’t have full dairy I have goats milk butter and cheese
I always do my bloods fasting and leave the gap .. I take vitD and my b12 and ferritin and all is high actually way over range .. I’ve spoken to my GP he has increased my Levo from 50mcg to 75mcg he won’t increase the T3 🤷♀️ he said we will test again in 8 weeks
I never split my T3 and not sure if too ? Some say spoilt it and some not too ??
I was hoping for a 5mcg increase in T3 but he won’t let me yet 😞 xxxx
