how much to raise by?

I’m taking tamoxifen for breast cancer. It had impacted thyroid levels in the autumn but I only adjusted by a little.

Latest test was tsh 5.17 and t4 17 (not taken that day) on 125 for 3 days a week and 100 for 4 days a week.

Obviously I’m not very with it now. I think it has been like this for a couple of months but the worst symptoms are coming out now.

I’ve gone to a straight 125 a day. I’d like to be tsh 1 - 0.8 as I know from experience that’s a good level for me.

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on whether to add a couple more 25s in.

Thanks

Can you add the reference range for FT4 - numbers in brackets after your result.

What and when were your latest vitamin results?

What are you supplementing with?

I’m not supplementing with anything other than vit d and magnesium as it’s unclear if other things will affect the tamoxifen/ breast cancer

I wouldnt recommend change by any more than 25mcgs.

You havent given the reference range for FT4.

I’ve only added an extra 4 x 25 a week

It’s 10-22. T4 was 17.4

So your FT4 is at 62% of range. You could probably afford to go up a full 25mcgs a day.
