why would my T3 be high in the range with T4 mid range?
After a few hard months of GP changing my meds I’m now back up to 175mcg of Levo.
Just had my results and they are nothing I’ve had before it’s always T4 above my T3 .Just wondering why and what might have caused this ?
TSH. 0.11 0.55-4.78
FT 4 18.7 11.5-22.7
FT3. 6 3.5-6.5

was test early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Are your vitamin levels now at good levels

Yes test at right time also correct routine before testing
About to do some vitamin tests in next week

Free T3 (fT3) 6 pmol/L (3.5 - 6.5) 83.3%
Certainly seems unusual if only on levothyroxine
How long had you been back on 175mcg when tested
Retest again in 6-8 weeks?

Could there be any other reasons why ?
GP wants a consultation I expect to try and lower levo on TSH reading ☹️
What were you on before? 150mcg daily?
wait to get vitamin results before considering changing anything
You might need tiny dose reduction if Ft3 higher next test
Eg 167mcg twice week and 175mcg 5 days per week
Started. 200 then 175 then 125 then 175 all in six months 😳

That was massive (ludicrous) reduction from 175mcg to 125mcg
The maximum you should change dose by with Levo is 25mcgs.
If your GP is telling you to alter your dose by more than that you need to speak up and tell them that you will only change by 25mcgs maximum.
When fine tuning your dose you can go by as small a dose as 12.5mcgs or even less.
