So.. Had the same conversation with gp yesterday.. Even though my T 4 has fallen by 3.7 digits for no reason.. He still is saying I'm over medicated because my tsh is surpressed.. He actually said that whatever my T 3 and T 4 levels are, if my TSH is surpressed that means that I am over medicated.I told him my symptoms get worse when I reduce my dose.. And asked him. If I'm over medicated how come I'm gaining weight when sticking to 1100 cals a day a day .. Sleeping 15 hours a night still tired etc.. that I think I'm not absorbing my T4... This has been quite recent.. And I think related to being changed to Teva brand 75 mcg tablets instead of 3x 25 mcg mercury pharma. ( I did also raise my T 3 tablets slightly but my T 3 is the same and I now feel under medicated..)
He replied that it must be something else.. As I'm definitely absorbing my meds because my tsh is surpressed.
…..!!!????? I'm talking to a brick wall...
At least he has referred me to have a para thyroid test based on other blood tests, and says I will need to discuss with the endocrinology if I want another opinion.
Does anyone live in the Brighton east sussex area, and have a GP that understands that the T 3 and T 4 levels actually do mean something??
Also any info on the nhs Endocrinologists in this area too.. I'm still waiting for a call back.. I seem to have a different consultant each time.
Thanks x
