i found this very interesting. No doubt, many will find some statements controversial!
Interesting video: i found this very interesting... - Thyroid UK
Interesting video
lol I haven't watched the video, because I hate watching these videos, but if it's saying what I think it's saying, I would probably disagree. I've had a very high fat diet ever since I was a child, but my thyroid still gave out when I was about 8 years old. So, it hasn't done much for me.
I know this will not be accepted by many, including her iodine statements. However, different viewpoints do make peolple think and not get stuck into dogma. For me, a lot is applicable that will not be for others.
I tried. But after ten minutes of a video which lasts over one and a half hours, I gave up.
Some very odd editing at the start. Then very repetitive and I just couldn't cope with the interviewer's voice and style.
Prevention is better than cure.
If insufficient iodine was the cause of my autoimmune thyroid disease, by the time hypothyroidism was diagnosed, it was way beyond cure. Whether that be from iodine, high fat diet or anything else. What's done is done, and the best most of us can do, is to figure out our individually appropriate balance of thyroid hormone therapy, and consume the healthiest diet that we can manage, so that our body and brain gets the nutrients it needs to function as well as possible.
