Help with timing, drinks etc for MonitorMyHealth Test

I was wondering what the best practice is for taking blood samples at home for a Monitor My Health test.

I usually try to sleep 10pm-6am, and I have breakfast around 7.20am. However sometimes I don't sleep that long, for example today I slept from 10pm to 4am and couldn't sleep any more.

I usually drink weak black tea with milk first thing in between waking and breakfast.

So taking today as an example, if I wake at 4am, what time should I take my blood samples, and should I drink only water (no tea) before taking them?

I am doing the full panel of tests for Thyroid, TPO Antibodies, Diabetes, Vitamin D, Total Cholesterol, and Anaemia.

I have stopped biotin. Can all other supplements be continued?

I take NDT 1 grain around breakfast time, so depending on when I take a blood test, I would not have taken any for around 24 hours. Is this right?

Thank you very much.

Only do postal tests early Monday or Tuesday morning

if you wake early ideally just drink water before test

You could test as early as 6am if you wanted

Day before test you should ideally split the NDT as 2 doses ….2nd dose approx 12 hours before test

Stop any supplements that contain biotin….eg vitamin B complex

Others continue until day before test

Thank you very much SlowDragon.

I can drink just water before the test, and I might do the test at 6am then if I'm up early that day.

I will split my NDT on the day before the test and have half with breakfast and half with dinner at 6pm.

NDT should be taken on empty stomach and nothing apart from water for at least an hour after

(like all replacement thyroid hormones)

A few people do find it better to take with food, but it is likely to impair absorption
