Help with blood test results

So I posted on here a few weeks ago when my t3 blood test was really high and I thought the abnormality was because I was taking vitamins with biotin in it.

I finally managed to get an appointment to get blood test. I only take t3 50mg which I take as a split dose. My last dose before blood test was more than 12 hours before blood test.

I'm a bit confused with my results. My t4 is 5.4 which seems high for me it's usually non existence. Why is is higher?

My t3 is 9 which is still high should be 3.9 -7 and the tsh is <0.01

Should I reduce my t3?

How much more? Knowing that helps us to interpret your result as accurately as possible.

Don't worry about the TSH, it's low because you're taking T3, that's just what it does (lowers or suppresses TSH).

Should I reduce my t3?

I would want my FT3 in range so if it was me I'd reduce my dose of T3.

Thank you for your advice

It was 14 hours after last dose taken

So not far off the recommended time gap which means that the result is pretty much showing a measure of your normal circulating amount although it might be showing a touch lower.

Do you have Hashi's?

Not that I know off. I had blood test which didn't show that. It's just very odd for my t4 to be at that level.

I did a trial of levothyroxine before I started t3 and t4 dropped to 2.9 with no medications. So really odd for me.

Yes, exactly, which is why I suspect Hashi's. Did you have your TPO and Tg antibodies tested?

I think so. I'll have a look through my blood test forms and see if I can find it.

I haven't lost any weight or had any other symptoms the last couple of weeks that I've noticed.

When were vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin levels last tested

Suggest you reduce T3 by 5mcg and retest in 6 weeks

Update Sorry for some reason I can't add to the original post

I found out I'm pregnant so wondering if that's why my t4 levels have improved

Tagging SlowDragon so she sees your new reply .

How many weeks pregnant are you ?

pregnancy does cause changes in thyroid levels yes.

in the early weeks until about wk 11/12 the fetus relies totally on your thyroid hormones , until it can make it's own.

Being on 'T3 only' in pregnancy is very controversial and doctors won't like it at all ( they will want you to be taking at least some Levo ) ...but it has been done successfully by a few people

I suggest you write new post with 'newly pregnant taking T3 only' in the title so you get more responses from those who have information about it.

i think it was humanbean who has lots of info about pregnancy with T3 only, but i could be wrong .but i know somebody on here has collected some and it was posted fairly recently try using search / related posts.

Thank you for your reply. I think I'm around 5 weeks pregnant. My endocrinologist knew we were trying to get pregnant so she spoke to the obs endocrinologist specialist and he has managed patients on t3 so said I can continue with this. Luckily the endo called me yesterday to discuss my blood results and she is making an urgent referral
