I have a blood test at 8am on Monday and am not sure of the best time to take my T3 today and tomorrow.
For the last 6 weeks I’ve taken 75mcg Levo plus 5mcg T3 first thing , usually 5 or 6 am . (I have only taken Levo this morning in case I need to postpone timing of T3).
I know last Levo should be 24 hrs before bloods so I’m planning to take it at 8 am tomorrow making 24 hrs before blood test.
Should I take the T3 later in the day today & tomorrow as I read a post suggesting last T3 should be 12 to 18 hours before bloods?
Thanks 😊

Thanks shaws. I’ve been doing the same and it’s seeming ok. I saw a private Endo and he wrote to my gp requesting a blood test to include T3. Progress at last……thanks to all I’ve learned on here 😊
I am glad you found an Endo who prescribed T3. I am glad also that GP will include a T3 in your blood test.
When we find a thyroid hormone that relieves our clinical symptoms or a particular dose, it makes such a difference to 'feel normal health' once more and no symptoms.
Thanks shaws.I’ve actually been lucky enough to have a 3-6 month trial of T3 prescribed by an nhs Endo. I subsequently went to a private Endo (someone on here told me about) , to oversee it as the nhs one didn’t even want to take bloods before I started my trial (plus a few other concerns I had ).
nhs endo told me I’m lucky in this area (North Hampshire) as they will do a trial of T3.
Due to your last sentence I should imagine thousands will be moving to your area, in order to get a proper dose of T3 to relieve their disabling symptoms.
Advice here is to take last dose of T3 8-12 hours before thyroid test, adjusting time and splitting dose if necessary the day before.
Today's dose should be as normal, no need to change anything, so as you haven't yet taken it just take it now.
Sunday's dose should be split into 2 if possible. If you have 5mcg tablets then take 2.5mcg plus your Levo later than normal - adjust time so that it is 24 hours before your appointment (I see that you are planning to take it at 8am), and the second dose of 2.5mcg should be 8-12 hours before the time of your appointment so that would be between 8pm and midnight as your appointment is 8am on Monday.
I have taken T3 for several years now and take one daily dose with a glass of water.
I have never split my dose before a blood test - I just take T3 afterwards and no doctor has yet queried my result and I do feel very well with no symptoms.
I follow Dr John Lowe's advice - he was a scientist/researcher/expert on T3 in particular and was also an Adviser to Thyroiduk before his death due to an accident.
