Can anyone advise please whether having recently been really ill with a virus is likely to impact thyroid blood results? I’ve booked a private general MOT blood draw for next week but have been unwell since before Christmas with flu and then a lung infection. The blood tests will be looking across a range of markers and I understand that the white cell count could be affected by an infection - but I do need the thyroid T3, T4 and TSH results to be as accurate as possible as it’s possible my GP may try and adjust my Levo dose. As this is an expensive set of tests and as I am really nervous about blood draws, I am hoping not to have to repeat them so I would really appreciate any advice as to whether illness can impact these important results and if so, how long I should wait before going ahead.
Many thanks in advance.

I would definitely wait until you have fully recovered from a viral infection before having blood tests. I found my CRP inflammation markers were still elevated one week after a viral infection. As such I now wait a couple of weeks after recovery before retesting.
