Good Afternoon everyone 😊
Thyroid UK recommends London Private Ultrasound Clinic. Please could anyone who has used them private message me with your experiences, good or bad, or anything I should be aware of beforehand? I'm thinking of having a scan with them as I will be in London for another reason in a months time so doesn't mean a special trip. Local scan clinics in my area are charging double, mainly need a GP referral or paid consultant fee on top, and one advised me there are very few reasons why a scan would be indicated and my results suggested not!
Also regarding scans, can you get false positives? ie. they see something on there (nodules maybe?) but that is not what is causing a problem and in fact is a red herring?
How accurate are scans with correlating symptoms with disease in the absence of overtly hypothyroid test results?
Basic background for context in trying to establish if thyroid is a problem (or not) - Lowish but in range T4 and T3, normal TSH. No antibodies - November 2023 Advanced Thyroid Panel with Medichecks. Next thyroid and vit test due next week. Have been working on raising very low ferritin since September. My other vitamins were mid range.
Post showing my results healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
Will think about a scan further once next weeks results are back but would be good to understand pitfalls and learn of personal experiences.
Thank you, you have been my guiding light over the last few weeks and kept me sane, I'm truly grateful 🤗
