I’ve been nagging my friend to get her thyroid tested. She had them done privately, in the am before food, and the results with ranges are above. The narrative says all normal so she is happy with that. I’m concerned that two of her results are at the bottom of the range and not optimised. She struggles with the same symptoms as me and I’m hypothyroid. Would you advise any actions she should take that would improve her levels or do I just leave her alone?

Huge thanks for looking at this SlowDragon She is 58 and eats meat. I will try to get her to get the further tests done and pass on this information.
I'd suggest she checks her B12, Folate, Iron and Vit D levels and optimise those and see how she feels 🤗 she may just be missing some of the basics
The range is there as people do run at these levels but symptoms suggest her thyroid is struggling
Thank you TiggerMe I will try to get her to get the further tests done. She is really struggling. Pushes herself really hard then gets exhausted.
It's great that she has a switched on friend 🤗 being low in any one of these can leave you feeling utterly washed out. If she goes to her GP with these symptoms they should at the very least do a range of blood tests which will be a good starting point
That’s so sweet of you. It’s been going on for years so hopefully I can encourage her to keep going and get to the bottom of it. I don’t know what I would do without this forum. Myself, my daughter and so many friends would be lost without the knowledgeable folks on here who take the time to learn and share. Can’t thank you enough x
