Results advice please

Good morning, I would really welcome some advice from this amazing community about my latest results. Due to advice from this group I have been increasing my Levothyroxine dose since July as I was under medicated for a long time (25mg daily). I increased to 50mg on 25th July and retested in Sept, I then increased to 75mg daily on 8th Oct. My assumption was that I would further increase by 12.5mg daily, however, as you will see from below, each time I increase Levothyroxine my T3 seems to decrease. I am therefore reluctant to increase again and would like to understand why this might be?

Test results since March. All private and done between 08:00 - 09:00 with at least 24 hrs since last Levothyroxine dose. I also stopped B complex over a week before as it contains biotin and substituted with B12 spray (Better You).

13 Mar - TSH 4.71 (0.27 - 4.2) T4 15.8 (12 - 22) T3 4.5 (3.1 - 6.8). - 25mg Levo

12 Jul - TSH 4.5 (0.27 - 4.2) T4 16.6 (12 - 22) T3 4.0( 3.1 - 6.8). - 25mg Levo

23 Sept - TSH 3.11 (0.27 - 4.2) T4 16.2 (12 - 22) T3 4.3 (3.1 - 6.8) - 50mg Levo

11 Dec - TSH 1.53 (0.27 - 4.2) T4 19.2 (12 - 22) T3 3.8 (3.1 - 6.8) - 75mg Levo

Vitamin results on 11th Dec - B12 102 (37.5 - 188) D3 73.4 (50 - 250) Folate 34 (>7) Ferratin 61.3 (30 - 650)

Needless to say, I am still experiencing symptoms of low energy, tiredness, joint aches, brain fog & nails lifting from nail beds.

I am supplementing with D3&K2 (better You spray) & B Complex (Wild Nutrition Energy Support).

Your advice would be very much appreciated.

Well, the difference is very slight, but I would say that with your last blood test, you are a poor converter and your FT4 is now probably too high, and converting to more rT3 than T3, so your FT3 has gone down. Try reducing by 12.5 mcg and see what happens.

greygoose why wouldn’t she look to introduce Lio? Why think rT3 in this case vs poor converter?

Ummm... Not with you, there. Poor conversion and rT3 pretty much come to the same thing with an FT4 that high. And I did say she was a poor converter.

As to introducing T3, that wasn't what she asked. I just answered her question: would like to understand why this might be? I explained why that might be. I didn't say anything about introducing T3 or not introducing it.

Thanks! That’s what I was asking, I might not have phrased it clearly. I’m still learning up on rt3 and so was just curious.

Thank you greygoose that makes sense. I will try reducing my dose and see where it takes me.

Quick question…is it ok to take 50mg / 75mg on alternative days rather than cutting a 25mg in half and taking 62.5mg per day?

Well, it's fine for some people, not for others. I've never done it so can't speak from personal experience. But, I'm afraid you'll just have to try it and see how it goes. :)

Worth adding an extra squirt of D3 to try and get it above 100 as this is part of the conversion cocktail
