T3 or not T3

Dear all,

I've been taking T4 since having a thyroidectomy in 2017. A couple of months ago I had a consultation with a private and rather expensive GP, who convinced me to try pharmacy manipulated T3. Prior to this I was taking 175mcg of Euthyrox on Mondays to Wednesdays and 150mcg, the rest of the week. She said it was wrong to mix doses and put me on 150mcg of T4 each day and 10mcg of T3, both taken first thing in the morning, a half an hour before breakfast.

It has been over six weeks since I started and I must admit I feel absolutely no benefit. The only difference I've noticed, but it's uncertain if it's related since it has been very hot here, is that I seem to be sweating excessively, particularly from the back of the head, and with an unpleasant (even to me) body odour!

I'd like to present screen shots of my recent exams and ask people if they think anything is awry or if could be improved.

Due to the expense, I don't wish to return to this GP and all the endocrinologists here, covered by my health insurance, are against T3 medication. I'm thus thinking of returning to my old mixed dosage of Euthyrox.

Please see the screen shots above and below of my TSH, Free T4 and Free T3 exams (lots of tests, because I had a number surgeries for physical ailments in this period). The last value in each is after the T3/T4 dosage. Note: my doctors usually like to keep the TSH level low as I had thyroid cancer - it went haywire earlier last year:

I will try to post the T3 and T4 screeshots as separate replies, since I can't seem to post more than one image, or a larger Image

Thanks a lot!

What did she mean by, 'wrong to mix doses'?

To take 175mcg on some days and 150mcg on others

Levothyroxine has a 7 day half life so I don't see how alternating doses within the week would be a problem. I've taken alternate doses for the past 7 years without problem. Ask her what the half life of levothyroxine is to see if she knows. It's different for T3 of course.

Yes, that's a very good point. Thanks
