Thermometer & Pill Cutter Reccomendations?? CT3M method.

Hi

After all this time and never having tried thyroid meds before my T3 meds have arrived and am about to start soon the CT3M method as per Paul Robinson. I also had a zoom consultant with him , now just waiting on his book to arrive before I start .

I am hoping the T3 will help with my low morning and midday cortisol and increase my T3 levels more.

Just wondering if anyone knows of the best thermometer I could buy as I know I have to track my temperature and a good pill cutter as my Thybon tablets are 20mcg and I need to start with 5mcg . A pill cutter I bought before just shattered the tablet!!

In terms of pill cutter, I have one (just really cheap) but only use it for my more rounded/small tablets or ones that don't have a clean split. Thybon Henning tabs are flat and have a good clear split, so I just split into 2 by hand, and break each half into two. I've often found the pill cutter to be less accurate than splitting by hand, and you say, they can often shatter them!

Ah , thank you seveneleven, I just looked more closely at the thybon yes they have a definite score, and am glad u have the same so good to hear they can easily be broken by hand. Thank you!

I use a sharp craft scalpel to cut 20mcg into 1/4’s

Use a dedicated clean table-mat to cut on and mop up any crumbs with damp finger

Put individual 1/4’s in a pill dispenser

Thank you! That's actually looks a good pillcutter , better than the one I had , thanks for this, good if the manual option or blades don't work. I have saved in my Amazon account.

Some favour Geratherm thermometers - they use a metal (as did mercury thermometers) but are safe. The problem is they can be hard to shake-down after use.

There are numerous electronic devices and the best/best value changes so regularly it is hard to keep track. Some seem to be pretty good. But make sure you do not need to buy any sort of "probe cover" as that is an extra and repeating cost.

There are many opinions about ear, oral, etc. but almost universally, forehead are regarded as terrible.

I can attest to forehead = terrible. Everywhere is 36.2 regardless of whether it’s hubby’s armpit or my chilly head 🤣

I use Pill Mill cutter from Amazon and use it to cut Thyborg Henning and Vencamil pills into quarters. It works brilliantly once you get used to it. It’s a bit more expensive but I’ve not looked back since using it 😂 Bonus is it’s not plastic.

I have a cheap pill cutter provided by the hospital but couldn't get on with it so use a sharp vegetable knife. As long as I hold it firm, the pills split without crumbling.
