Trying LDN and have pain in feet and hands, anyone else with increased pain?

Hi everyone,

I have had Hashis for 30 years and take 100 mg Synthroid and 5 mcg of Cytomel. My TSH is low and my T3 is barely hanging in there , my vitamin levels are good , I avoid gluten so my endo is letting me do a trial of LDN. I started at 1.5 for 10 days, 3 for 10 days and now 4.5 for a month. I had vivid dreams when I started and a little more achy but was also in the middle of a backyard landscape project with my husband so I attributed it to that. Well the backyard has been done for 2 weeks and I have pain in my feet, calves and hands. It’s definitely worse first thing when I get up in the morning or have been sitting awhile. Has anyone else had anything like this happen to them? Trying to figure out if it’s just my old 58 yr old body hurting from yard work 2 weeks later or the LDN. Usually I recover much faster.

Thank you!

I take LDN for Fibro but its taken me months to get to 4.5ml daily. I started off on 0.5ml liquid and slowly titrated up over many weeks. This was on the advice of my prescriber. I'm very med sensitive and wanted to avoid unwanted side effects.

Maybe you've increased much too quickly and your body is rebelling. If you have Hashi's LDN can reduce the amount of thyroid hormones you need as it regulates the immune system, maybe you are taking too much thyroid replacement now and its making you achey.

Thank you for your response. I did not consider that maybe it is working and I am over medicated possibly. I appreciate your feedback! I thought on this thread I saw others who had increased pain on LDN too

I never had increased pain, did get the vivid dreams though. But I titrated up at snail's pace. I know LDN can take several weeks to get working properly. I dont have Hashi's as far as I know so maybe wont benefit from the effect on my immune system. It might be different for you.

I've used 3.35 to 3.5ml daily for many years for CME (Chronic Myalgic Encephalitis). I was on Armour when starting the LDN. My experience has been that I heal much faster from injuries when I take LDN.

My dose is weight dependent but I don't recall the formula I used way back then.
