Hi everybody, Hope you all are well!

Im Hypo and Hashimoto ..

Im always bad in winter

feeling extremely cold.. with pins and needles on left arm and leg

Im already now feeling cold, tiredness, moody, anxiety ..

I’ve started strictly diet Egg free, Dairy free since summer May 20, also Gluten free already a year now,

I was much better on past summers,

even though med dose reducing, stop taking Vit D but I do regularly sunbath, and feeling good

But since the sun has gone about 5-6 weeks later without sunshines, all seem to back to troubles now

Starting with the smallest left toe in noticeable bothered numbness then it goes to whole both feet and hands is tingling now,

Im feeling like Vitamin D deficient also B12 deficient ? ( Im on Egg free Dairy free diet but added on alternative nut milks )

Have recent blood test.. GP always all time said its fine but Im always not feeling fine and mostly has to sorted myself..

When I was on too much dizziness blood test they all said Im Fine and they don’t know what caused my dizziness untill I suggested to reduce dose then its gone 😑

Pls look at my recent blood test and help me out with your great experiences,

Most appreciated!

You are very Hypo at the moment with such a high TSH and low FT4. The aim of a treated Hypo patient on Levo only, generally, is for TSH to be 1 or below with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of their reference ranges. What dose of Levo are you taking? You need an immediate increase - 25mcg now, repeat test in 6-8 weeks with further increase, repeat until levels are where they need to be for you to feel well.

Vit D is recommended to be 100-150nmol/L (vit D Council/Vit D Society) so once you reach that level you should take a maintenance dose along with magnesium and Vit K2-MK7 which are important cofactors when taking D3.

Your B12 test is a Total B12 test (which measures bound and unbound/Active B12) and you can have a good Total B12 but a poor Active B12. Active B12 is what is available for the cells to use. If you think you may be B12 deficienct I would get an Active B12 test, Medichecks offer a fingerprick test for this.

Thank you so much SeasideSusie for your detailed reply , I have already added 25mg recently also Vit D3 2000iu just added,

just got order Doctor’s Best Vit K2-MK7 plus D3 ( 1000iu ) so will swap to this as your advices, is it good to take one daily ?

From what I can see that supplement contains 180mcg Vit K2-MK7 which is more than you need. 90-100mcg K2-MK7 is enough for up to 10,000iu D3. I buy Doctors Best D3 which is relatively cheap and contains only 2 ingredients - D3 and extra virgin olive oil, so a nice clean supplement. I buy a separate K2-MK7.

1,000iu D3 daily may or may not be your maintenance dose. It wont increase your current level and may not be enough to maintain it over the winter (my maintenance dose is 5,000iu daily, others find 2,000iu is OK and a few manage with 1,000iu).

I had Holland Barret Vit D3 spray and its bad for me with lots of annoyed additive 😣give up ..

got these Doctors Best as seen your advices to other 🤗 so has tried Vit D3 2000iu (50mg) daily just 10days now and seem to be good..should I carry on this dose and add a separate Vit K2-MK7 90-100mg as your said ?

I was on Holland Barret tablet Vit D3 last year 1000iu (25ug) which found no help, still got pins and needles on arm & leg,

Summer comes, got sunbathe everyday and that pins needles has gone even stop taking Vit D,

so that mean my case I really in need of Vit D.. advise dose please seasideSusie

If my level was the same as yours I'd be taking 2,000iu during the winter and retest in March/April to check your level.

If you are taking a separate D3 then you need to add K2-MK7 and magnesium.

SeasideSusie as I already got VitK2-MK7 180mcg here.. Should I take 3 times per week or 1 every two days,

Does it work that ways ?

I know its better to have it lower 90–100mcg for me and take it daily but just in the meantime.. while waiting for a new loads coming

SeasideSusieRemembering in reply toSnqanq

Snqanq

If that was me I'd take it alternate days. I'd also take Vit D alternate days (the same day as K2) as well.

Snqanq in reply toSeasideSusie

Sorry previous post got bit wrong 😌

180mcg VitK2-MK7 plus Vit D3-1000iu (all in one) already got here, as your earlier advices that might quite high for me, 90-100mcg should be good for me at moments but have to wait for new orders..

so should I take 180mcg one every two days instead of one a day ?

If your order is on the way I wouldn't change anything at the moment, another couple of days wont hurt.

The usual serving suggestion for magnesium is 350-450mg daily.

Your supplement is 100mg and it says take 2 tablets twice a day.

No suggestions. You may need to do some testing as certain vitamin deficiencies can lead to hair loss:

Plus, of course, hair loss is a symptom of hypothyroidism and at the moment you are very hypothyroid and very undermedicated.

Sorry, I'm afraid I can't advise if you should take it.

You have Hashi's - an autoimmune disease - and it says to consult a physician.

pins and needles. is blood pressure related. so heart related. i had that shock last year.

all through my life even as a kid i had pins and needles easily. couldnt cross my arms or legs or have arm in wrong position for very long. GP back then said its a known hypothyroid symptom. just try not to cross legs.. (facepalm)

last year had a heart scare and found out it was due to a enlarged heart because my low blood pressure caused my heart to enlarge to counter it. thus yep i buggered up my heart by not pushing to have my pins and needles issues actually addressed earlier in life.

pins and needles its not hormonal direct cause. its blood pressure related, due to lazy heart(wel lazy all muscles) where the lazy muscles are due to metabolism where the metabolism is due to thyroid.

but trying to be told 'its just hypothyroidism, live with it' is not something you should accept. ask for some heart/blood pressure advice separate from standard 'just take levo' advice
