New blood results

Hello

Would someone kindly have a look at these please.

Have to say I’m impressed they took free T3 measurement.

Last year B12 was 378, folate was 9.1, ferritin was 40 (same ranges).

Will have to make new posts as I can’t work out how to post 3 screenshots (🤯)

Thanks lovelies. ☺️

If you hover your mouse over it it will light up and you can use it.

The main results are here with your thyroid numbers which aren;t hugely different to your MMH results.

I don't know how to read a full blood count.

Make immediate appointment GP

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking and which brand

You need immediate 25mcg increase in levothyroxine

Retest in another 6-8 weeks

Meanwhile working on improving low vitamin levels essential

Last year B12 was 378, folate was 9.1, ferritin was 40 (same ranges).

These were too low

What supplements have you been taking

I'm assuming that these are NHS test results and hopefully your GP might reinstate your dose to where it was. In future refuse to drop your dose until you have posted here and taken recommendations.

You had some good responses to your previous MMH test results post that you might want to review here: healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

What are you taking for your folate level? Have you finished the folic acid as you likely need to continue to supplement that privately.

Which B12 are you taking as your B12 is not optimal?

Your ferritin could be higher. Ferritin should be around 90 - 100 for best use of thyroid hormone. Suggest increasing iron rich foods in diet and eating them often. Chicken livers, pate, red meat etc

I haven’t been taking folic acid. I don’t eat meat so I probably should have something. I’m not sure what has or hasn’t posted, apologies if anything appears more than once. Does anyone know if this is an iron panel?

You could try a good methyl/active form of B complex. I will list 3 that you can pick one from. This helps keep all the B's in balance and will top up your folate & B12 which will always be low or even deficient as you don't eat meat unless you supplement. That would be making you more unwell than you need to be and unless we have OPTIMAL levels of all vitamins our thyroid hormone doesn't work well.

The results you have posted (well done!) are a full blood count and not an iron panel.

Did you say you have 3 pages of results? Can't see the third.

Hopefully here is the 3rd, but it probably is not so relevant.

No not so relevant to thyroid.

Ask GP to do a full iron panel or buy one from one of the private companies. Before starting to supplement iron you should know the status of your iron panel. Its possible to have low ferritin & high iron in which case supplementation isn't recommended.

As you are not a meat eater you may well need to supplement iron.

See link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...

There is also a new company offering walk in (includes free blood draw) & mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...

Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.

JD I asked the nurse to do the iron panel and she said yes, gp has ordered it. God knows where it is then. Or maybe the lab didn’t do it. I’ll ask about it.

Request/insist GP test vitamin D as well

And a referral to endocrinologist of your choice

SD - GP has refused to refer. I’ve had a helpful reply privately about a possible private endo. I have a phone appointment with GP tomorrow. I thought I’d replied this but it seems to have disappeared, having a bad IT day I think.

Thanks both for the replies.

At moment you need dose increase levothyroxine

And never agree to dose reduction unless Ft3 is over range

Roughly where in U.K. are you re seeing endocrinologist

One someone has mentioned is Oxford. However, someone on here has had good experience with St Thomas/Guys (posted this week), so I’ve been investigating endos there. Can’t see a thyroid or adrenal one though.
