These results are 1 yr old ,looking for help on how to proceed when latest results are in..

do these old results show poor conversion, or that levothyroxine need increasing.

novathyral 100/t4 20/t3 combined tablet

26/08/22

anti thyroid peroxidase 181 range 34 result high

antithyroglobulin 49 range 115 result normal

tsh 1.05 range 0.27 - 4.20 result normal

free t4 9.0 pmol/l range 12.0 - 22.0 result below low normal

free t3 5.88 pmol/l range 3.1 - 6.8 result normal

unsure if adding another 75 levo boosting it to 175 of t4 will help or just get it out of my system due to it causing issues, used to be t3 only, same symptoms persisted except had bit more energy and didnt have air hunger and serious weight gain, anxiety ,poor memory, bad anger issues too.

currently have covid so waiting to get blood's done when safe

thank you to all on this site, i wish you all well

Retest first BEFORE considering changing anything

Include retesting vitamin levels too

Covid can change things

Ideally wait 6-8 week’s post covid before testing

Only ever increase levothyroxine by maximum of 25mcg per day

what’s the smallest dose of novathyal you could add?

Retest in 6-8 weeks

You can’t tell how conversion is when taking a combination tablet ….only when on Levothyroxine ONLY

was hoping that levels might show something.... ft3 not through the roof, if i was converting ok i thought it would be high high end of range or above with amount of t4 taken and 20/ t3 already.

also still having such large amount of hypo symptoms with a tsh close to 1.0 has to point to something well i hoped it would.

Well those results are a year old so too old to be relevant

Generally if taking combination of levothyroxine and T3 most people would have very low TSH

when i first started levothyroxine i worked upto a dose higher than 100mcg and my tsh never got anywhere close to the range. checked filed blood work from over 6 yrs ago, couldn't that point to the small amount of t3 i currently take pushing tsh down currently.

take t4 out of the equation stay same t3 dose untill t4 clears system then slowly increase t3.... this is the way i'm leaning towards

new blood results will be next week , will decide then.

100mcg just levothyroxine isn’t a high dose…..especially for a bloke

Taking almost any dose of T3 will significantly lower TSH
