hello

Can anybody help me interpret my January results. Since then my meds have been lowered from 150mg to 125mg. New bloods will be done next week to check lower dose.

These are January results

Test Result Ref. Range (Units)

TSH * <0.01 0.35 - 5.00 mU/L (mU/L)

Free T4 16.1 9.0 - 21.0 pmol/L (pmol/L) Total

T3 looks like they didn’t test

How do you feel

Did you feel over medicated on 150mcg?

ALWAYS test thyroid levels early morning ideally just before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Only drink water between waking up and blood test. Take levothyroxine immediately after blood test done

Just testing TSH and Ft4 is completely inadequate

You need TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested

When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested

Looking at previous posts you had absolutely dire B12 result last year

Are you now getting B12 injections regularly

Did GP test for Pernicious Anaemia

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least annually

thank you for the reply. I’m going this week for bloods and to see gp. I’m going to ask for everything. Not resolved b12 as they said I had to wait 3 months to be tested again. I noticed t3 was missing and don’t know why.

On 150mg I felt wired and very anxious. Feel a bit more normal on 125mg, but still not fabulous

all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

We must have good vitamin levels for good conversion of Ft4 (levothyroxine) to Ft3 (active hormone)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
