Guess what?! As of right now, almost 5 weeks in, my tsh is 0.76! 😮😮😮 (0.45-5.33) how is that possible on 50mcg? I'm excited, nonetheless!! Free t4 is 0.95 (0.61-1.24)... didn't test t3, but I'll be happy to wait a few months on this dose with that tsh! Please advise. 😄 I'm shocked! 😁🤯 Not hashi's, tpo value <1 and range 0-4. If this is optimal, I should feel good soon, right? 🥳💛
Update: at goose's suggestion, I asked my doctor to increase to 75mcg. He obliged. So I'll start that tomorrow. Thank you guys!!! 🥰

Well, you really need them both tested. Just because the Tg antibodies were negative, doesn't mean the TPOab are. And the TPO are more likely to be elevated than the TgAB with Hashi's.
Your FT4 is only 53.97% through the range, so I very much doubt if that is optimal. And the FT4 result is far more important than the TSH. In fact, the TSH is pretty meaningless once it gets below 1. It's a very poor indicator or thyroid status. And TSH doesn't make you feel anything. It's just a messanger boy between the thyroid and the pituitary. So, no, I really don't think you're going to start feeling good in a few months on that dose. I think you need to go up to 75 mcg. 50 mcg is only a starter dose. Sorry to rain on your parade, but that's the way it is.
My doctor agreed (is allowing me) to take 75mcg now. Retest in 3 months. Thank you soo much for your input!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗💛💛💛 (and I'll ask for tpo next time. 😁)
Those are odd FT4 lab ranges. Usually in the US the top of range for FT4 labs is anywhere from 1.7 to 2.0. An FT4 level of .95 is very low. If this is being measured in ng/dl then you'd want your FT4 to be closer to 1.4 and higher and FT3 close to 3.8 or higher.
Her FT4 range could be correct depending on where she was tested … I use lab corp and the FT4 range is (0.82 - 1.77 ng/dL) and I have used the military hospital and even they have a different range. Im sure at some point she will need to pay for her own testing just to get a complete look at what is going on if she is able to.
1.77 is the usual range for LabCorp. 1.8 for quest. Some physicians might have it set at 1.7. I've even seen labs that are set as high as 2. 0 but never as low as 1. 24. I've had many labs done over 13 years from multiple physicians and labs but never seen these particular ranges in the US. Wondering if it's a typo. It would make sense to have an Ft4 level of . 95 if you're only taking 50mcg Levo. As that amount increases it will rise above 1.24 which is why I'm questioning the range. 🤷
Honestly I wouldn't believe it if you didn't post the pic lol! The only thing that matters is how you feel but I'm curious as to why they're using this specific range for someone on thyroid hormone. Patients on thyroid hormone replacement will usually need higher FT4 levels. You'll need FT3 levels tested as well. Increases come every 6 weeks until you feel normal. TSH should not be used to determine dose. Your physician should be focused on how you feel and not the numbers. I currently see a registered nurse at a functional health practice for my hypo and she doesn't play the numbers game with my labs. Sounds like you have no complaints so far so hopefully you continue to improve! Depending on what state you live in you can order your own labs online at UltaLab. It's inexpensive and convenient.
