Hello… I have a friend who has been hypothyroid for decades, and is now late seventies. She has felt suddenly exhausted and put it down to life events, but had a FBC, which the GP said was ‘fine’. Having had such invaluable help from so many of you on here, I suggested she got the results emailed, and her relevant issues seem to be:
Vit. D :65.7 n mol/l, which seems ok- ish…
Folate is 13.49 microgram/l
Ferritin is 47.9 “. “
I am unclear as to the relationship between these three factors. I have her other results, but T4 and TSH seem ok.
Thanks so much…

Can your friend join the forum herself ? There will be lots of questions and it would be easier to ask your friend than ask you then you ask your friend then come back here and maybe we wont have all the information and need to ask more questions.
First of all we need reference ranges for folate amd ferritin.
We need to see results with reference ranges for any other tests she's had done.
We need to know how much Levo she takes and when she took her last dose of Levo before the test , it should have been 24 hours before.
Does she take biotin, B Complex or any supplement containing Biotin and if so did she leave it off for 3-7 days before the test?
Her Vit D is too low, it's recommended by the Vit D Council, Vit D Society and Grassroots Health to be 100-150nmol/L. Does she supplement Vit D ?
