SigmaPharm T3 supply problems

Does anyone know what is happening with the supply of SigmaPharm T3? I susually get it from Roseways but they have run out and don't know when the supply will be ocming, no other pharmacy on the Thyroid UK list seems to have it either. Any ideas where and when it might be available?

The first question is which SigmaPharm T3?

Do you mean the product that is specially imported from the USA?

Or the product which is made specially for the UK (and Ireland)?

You can tell by the packaging or the marking on the actual tablets. Or even the simple issue of whether they were 20 microgram (UK and Ireland) or 25 microgram (USA) tablets.

I don't have the answer! But it is important to understand the question. And, depending on which product, switching to the other just might be an option.

The only SigmaPharm T3 available in the UK is 5 mcg tablets as far as I know or at least this is what I was always told by Rosway Labs in London where I was getting it from. I presume it was coming from the US?

What are the markings on your tablets?

Does the PIL or packaging have a UK PL number? Or a USA NDC number?

I just checked and it's got the NDC number and it always has been the same kind of tubs for the last two years. When I first enquired in 2021 they told me that was the only SigmaPharm liothyronine available and it was only available in 5 mcg in the UK (I actually got some 25 mcg tablets from abroad but the last batch in 2022 didn't seem to have the same strength as the ones before so I didn't get any more). I don't think the other possibilities are widely known and/or easy to obtain and at the moment there SigmaPharm is the brand with supply issues apparently.

It maybe that pharmacy is unaware of the UK and Ireland product.

But it should be possible for any pharmacy to order it (so long as it is available) - just requires using a wholesaler who has a contract with the importer/packager.

I'm just checking a bit further.
