There was some discussion a few weeks ago that this drug is now being licensed in England. I’ve yet to see any of the standard high street pharmacies stocking it (including Boots). I can get it from a specialist pharmacy by mail order but thought that by now it should have made its way to the high street pharmacies.

SigmaPharm Liothyronin T3
Yes - it is licensed. But being licensed does not mean that the company will distribute the product. (For example, there are at least two levothyroxine products that have held licences for years but seem never to have been marketed.)
I have not yet seen it listed in the NHS Drugs Tariff.
Details in my medicines document.

I have created, and try to maintain, a document containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world.

Thanks Helvella, I would have thought the company spent time and money on getting licensed with a view to commence sales in the UK. I imagine they also will be tendering to the NHS when the opportunity arises.
I’ll email the company direct and see if they can tell me their plans. Will report back if/when I hear.
I have come to this thread after searching for SigmaPharm T3. I have just been issued with this having rejected Teva last week. I have not come across this brand before and would be interested in any feedback from anyone who has used it.
lili_robinson_1, What was your reason for rejecting Teva T3?
I have found in the past that I feel undertreated when on it. I am very lucky that the pharmacy I use will try and source another brand for me. I most often get Morningside although I think I feel best on Mercury pharma. Never had Sigmapharma before and just wondering how others find it
