I could cry!

So My last test results were in April. New test end of June, before meds and hours before food and 4 hours from supplements. Blood drawn at 9am

Here's what's improved since going (slowly) from 75mcg Levo to now 112.5 and going Gluten free.

TSH was 2.66, now .69 (0.27-4.20)

Free T4 was 17.3 now 19.1 (12-22)

No total T4 as this was a complete wellwoman test as I wanted to check other things.

I'll get to the Free T3 but .......

Serum Folate was 13.80 now 23.80 (8.83-60.8

Ferritin was 58.0 now 81.9 (13-150)

Vit D was 48 now 78 (75-200)

Anti- Thyroid peroxidase was 190 now 189 (<35)

Anti - Thyroglobulin was 96 now 70 (<115)

and the annoying bit free T3 was 3.96 now 3.90 (3.1-6.8)

I know I've a long way to go with things and I have to be patient but why the hell is T3 dropping!

FT3 is 0.06 lower than last time, that's all! Totally insignificant. And doesn't mean that it's on a downward trend. These slight differences are to be expected.

That said, could be that your FT4 is now too high, and is converting to more rT3 than T3. Everyone's set point for that is different, could be that yours is quite low. Only time and a retest in six weeks will tell.

That is true. I was just expecting a little improvement with going gluten free and taking all the right vits now. I'm lying - I was expecting a cure 😂. I did wonder if TSH and T4 was a little on the high side for me but then again I don't have any feelings of over medication. I'll try splitting the dose and re testing in 6 weeks. If no improvement I might drop it to 100mcg/112mcg alternate days. thanks

You could try splitting your dose levothyroxine, taking half waking up and half at bedtime.

Retest in 6-8 weeks

Thanks, I will try splitting it and I have a kit from the recent BH sale. Thanks

Perhaps the T3 is being utilized and actually getting inside the cells instead of sitting in the blood.

Thanks Gustie, I didn't realise that could be the case. I wish id ordered a reverse 3 test or one that included it

The reverse T3 test is actually of little use as it can be affected by many things and thyroid issues are just one of them. It proves very little if you have high reverse T3.

Ah! Well you've saved me some money then thanks. So hard to work out what's working.
