This is 2nd time around im trying Metavive as prescribed my natural endo. Last time i took half of the capsule with horrible side effects. Jerking twiching when falling asleep. So no sleep. Palpitations terrible anxiety and muscle tension. Had to take time off work. After 3 weeks tried again 1/4 of the capsule and s effects same but milder. 2 panic att at night in sleep. Mind waking me up and feeling of re set in heart and mind. Why am i reacting this way to such little dose? Dr does not offer alternatives so im forcing myself to take it but clearly i cant.

Metavive panic attacs and anxiety
Just checking that you stopped the multivitamin and any iodine supplements as neither is recommended.
As previously advised by members, you need to check TSH, FT3 and FT4 together for a better picture of your thyroid health. Ferritin, folate vit D and B12 also need to be optimal.
Just wondering, is there a reason why you haven’t tried Levothyroxine for your under active thyroid? When dosing is optimal, Levo works well for the vast majority of people with the condition.
it could be low cortisol x
Metavive works for some but not for all. They changed the recipe a few years ago and added the ribonucleotides. Before that it was fine. I've never really understood what ribonucleotides are.
Here's my post about the problems then.

Like you, I tried a naturopath but I wasn't happy with the iodine he prescribed among other things. I knew that I don't convert well so I need T3 as well as T4. At that time very few GPs would prescribe T3, but that seems to be better now. Eventually I chose a doctor from the Thyroid UK list. We tried NDTs but I've ended up with T4 plus T3. We consult over the web using Skype, which was useful during lockdown.
I really feel that you should find something else. You can't go on making yourself ill like this. You need someone who can give you a prescription. I know it's more expensive, but I feel that it's worth it to get medicine that is reliable.
I hope that helps.
Thank you, of course it helps a lot knowing im not the weird one who cant take what Dr prescribes. Would you please mind messaging me your Dr name if you are in the Uk. I do like my Dr and believe he has so much experience but he have not offered me any alternatives...i did email to him and video call few times.
KKristine,
In a comment on your previous post you wrote:

Please clarify whether or not you were taking any thyroid medication at that time?
If you were not on any form of thyroid medication, then those results indicate that you do not need to be on any thyroid medication.
Although the antibody count is high, indicating autoimmune, the hormone levels do not indicate a need for thyroid replacement at the moment.
This may be why you are getting the unpleasant symptoms.
Hello, no i was not on any th meds while in Lv, but when the test was done in the Uk i didnt give 6 weeks space in between as advised here in the group. Yes thyroid is still functioning but having extreem exaustion and no energy at all, paplitations, weight gain, hair loss, anxiety,,,,bet then i could also be peri menopause as confirmed by the Gp. Its not normal to wake up in the morning and being as tired as last night...so sad.
sounds like low cortisol - same thing happened to me when starting NDT. Starting thyroid hormone generally exposes underlying adrenal issues. Im presuming metavive will do the same. Id get salivary cortisol test done then go from there
Hi KKristine , could you let us know why you are trying to take any thyroid hormone ? it would help people give you more useful answers.
Because my natural endo Dr prescribed it along with Adrenavive which i also cant tolorate, just wondered if anyone else had these side effects.
yes i realised it was prescribed , i was wondering why it was prescribed ie. was it prescribed because you had blood results showing hypothyroidism ? ( low T4 and /or high TSH )
or was it prescribed with ok looking blood results based only on symptoms .... if so what were those symptoms ?
edit .. oh , ok i 've found them above in reply to red apple..... makes sense why he tried it now . Sorry you're feeling so naff KK.
