hives, inflamed scratch marks

hi

I’ve recently received my latest Erfa top up .

Conincidentally , I’ve started itching causing raised scatch marks like hives.

Do you think this relates to the Erfa or could it be something to do with the dose. I am under a consultant near Bristol so could contact them to raise this new reaction.

Your advice would be really appreciated

It could very well be the Erfa. I tried it for almost a year but every time I increased the dose, I ended up with more weird symptoms that I’d never had before. I gave up and went on combo T4/T3 but not without a struggle and a depleted bank balance!

thank you . Just seems strange as I’ve been using this for a while

How long, it took me almost a year to realise that it was the Erfa causing the symptoms and not under medication. I believe I was suffering some sort of animal protein reaction. The weird symptoms disappeared when I stopped taking it. The annoying part is that I wasted a year trying to get to my optimal dose 😱

The Erfa caused an awful taste in my mouth like glue, and as Armour caused my mouth to feel sticky, I do believe it is the Acacia Powder, and/or Cellulose in these that are causing the problems. While on WP Thyroid I had none of these symptoms, which included patches of glue-like lumps on my skin. At the moment I am taking Roseway Labs NDT, but again I am having the patches on my skin and fear I will have to revert to T4 and T3 with a fall in my health.

I gave up with NDT as I tried Thyroid S before Erfa and that didn’t work either. I was sure NDT was going to be my saviour but no. I’m now on combi T4/T3 and have just ordered my Liothyronine compounded capsules from them with limited filler and a gelatin capsule as I can’t tolerate the cellulose in tablets or capsule form. Maybe you’ll have to rethink.

It is the capsule itself that causes me problems. My actual blood results are very good.

what type of capsule is it?

The capsule is bovine hide, but I am tipping them into a gelatine capsule, but so far not much change.

why don’t you ask if you can have it in a gelatin capsule to start with. If you don’t ask, you don’t get 😊

I did, when I originally spoke to them and all they could come up with was the bovine hide ones. At the moment I am not sure that the gelatine capsules that I am using are an awful lot better.
