Magnesium recommendations

I have used the better you sprays for a while and they are helpful, but dry my skin out over time.

I tried magnesium citrate from Holland and Barrett but the pills are uncomfortable to swallow and didn't seem to help. I then tried the vita biotics brand which contains dihydroxide, and they are great for sleeping and reducing anxiety but upset my stomach.

So I read lots of posts on here and either threonate or glycinate seem to be the most recommended, can anyone recommend a good brand for either of these forms please and also who sells them. Thank you.

do you take 2 tablets at night. Just looked it up and it’s quite high strength

It’s 2 tablets twice a day. One tablet is 500mg of Glycinate Magnesium - 100 of chelated magnesium. I started off taking just one at night and it worked so well I have not taken the other one. Also with splitting the dose with other meds and supplements I’m not sure where to fit it in now anyway. According to the manufacturer if you take a too larger dose and don’t need it it will get washed away and wasted so taking together isnt an option and 100mg is enough for a woman. You would have to try and see what you needed.

I like ReMag which a liquid, so you can take as much or as little you need. You stir it into water and drink it. I buy it direct from Botanica Health in Tunbridge Wells, which is a small independent shop with a very helpful owner, who also sells it through Amazon for the same price. It's expensive but they often have offers on it and it lasts for ages: botanicahealth.co.uk/shop/r...

Thank you, that looks interesting, with the easily absorbed formula.

I use to use ReMag for several years …..but it’s expensive and an acquired taste

I now use Thorne citramate magnesium

Large capsules….so I open and tip powder into small glass water

No discernible taste and doesn’t upset gut

All magnesium at least 4 hours away from levothyroxine

Thank you and also for the reminder about not taking it near the levo.
