Have you tried Magnesium Citrate? It comes in the form of a lovely refreshing drink called
Natural Vitality Magnesium Supreme. Magnesium Taurate can work too, or even Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom Salts) in the bath can be absorbed a little through the skin. We buy ours from a veterinary supplier in large tubs. This is not the best way but the Epsom Salts will also draw toxins from the body.
I read somewhere that I can't take magnesium with levothyroxine. Is this correct? I drink mineral water that naturally has magnesium in it, sounds dumb but is it ok?
I have absorption problems so have recently taken to injectable mag sulphate. It did not have a noticeably laxative effect and i have a very sensitive gut indeed (coeliac and poss IBD on top).
Dr Myhill has a section in mag injections on her website
Thanks for responding. Are you magnesium deficient? understand that the serum test is not much use re testing for levels/deficiency.
Not sure I need to be as drastic as injections....as cannot really ascertain IF/How Much I am deficient by ...
I use magnesium oil applied to the skin. I couldn't tolerate any oral magnesium at all. My levels have risen. The one I use is available on betteryou.uk.com
Dont think so. It says nothing on the bottle about it being a night spray. But truthfully, I have no issues with it at all., BetterYou - Magnesium Oil - original (it says on front)
i was placed on Magnesium aspartate by our local hospital. I am unable to take beta or calcium channel blockers for my heart arrhythmias. It is a natural calcium channel blocker.
It is the only Mg I have used that does not have a laxative effect.
I would say 95% of the Western Population is low in Magnesium
Magnesium: A Mighty Mineral Indeed! Muscle contraction, glucose metabolism, electrical impulses of the heart, bone formation all rely on this mighty mineral to get the job done! If truth be told, the human body cannot function normally without magnesium.
great stufff
I have tried all other methods, but the best, cheapest and least problematic method I have found is using Magnesium chloride in a solution applied to the skin as it is so much stronger than other types. Epsom salts is good too, quite a skin tonic in fact, but you need ridiculous amounts to bathe in it for this to work. It is used in bath salts for this reason!
I buy Magnesium chloride (eBay!) and dilute it as suggested on Dr Myhills site, (it is sold very expensively already diluted as "Magnesium Oil", as it feels slightly oily; it is dramatically cheaper to do it yourself as she outlines!) usually I use it once or twice a week, although if you have a specific defined deficiency, then more often might be needed as she suggests.
It is a little sticky, but nothing too unpleasant, I rub it in the sides of my abdomen and simply leave my shirt off for 20 minutes or so until it dries off.
No, purely after DECADES of severe cramping, a friend suggested I try Magnesium, and it resolved the problem in a matter of a couple of days! Later sought out more convenient means of supplementing.
Hence the reason I don't supplement to more extreme levels some suggest for severe deficiencies
Thanks for the link Picton. I have been trying all kinds of magnesium for muscle spasms - Epsom salt baths have helped however I'll increase the amount I put in my bath. The magnesium oil helps too as does the Mag Phos. Thanks again x

I have just read a book by Dr Dean who wrote the Magnesium Miracle. Her Remag is supposed to be really good and not laxative. If you search Remag UK there appears to be one company selling it in the UK. Have to checked out information about vitamin D. Also very interesting in a range of health conditions. Good luck and best wishes. X
Am researching Magnesium. I have a LOT of Mg deficiency symptoms. I know your post is old but I was wondering if you woud recommend the ReMag. How long before taking did you see benefits?
