Which anti inflammatory?
Ginger and turmeric are natural anti inflammatories and are lactose free. I take both daily. If using fresh produce, I would try a small amount of fresh ginger grated into hot water or a smoothie and quarter teaspoon turmeric powder. Some people find both can cause stomach upsets if introduced at a higher amount. Black pepper increases the absorption of turmeric, so some people add a twist of this too. There are supplements for both readily available if you don’t want to use fresh.
I’m currently trialling a boswalia (Indian frankincense) supplement for arthritis symptoms, but it’s too early for me to say if this is of benefit to me.
Geegee777, Do you mean a pharmaceutical medicine such as Ibuprofen? If so, you are probably best to consult a pharmacist. I may be wrong, but I suspect anything you can buy without prescription will contain lactose, as this is such a commonly included excipient. If you are definitely intolerant to all lactose containing anti-inflammatories, you may need to get a lactose free liquid anti-inflammatory on prescription through your GP.
