We can see that your TSH is higher than most of us would wish. Most hypo patients on Levo only feel best when TSH is 1 or below.
Can you add the reference range for FT4, ranges vary from lab to lab so we need your lab's range to be able to comment on your result.
Did you do your test as we advise :
* No later than 9am
* Nothing to eat or drink except water before the test
* Last dose of Levo 24 hours before the test
* No biotin or B Complex or any supplement containing Biotin for 3-7 days before the test
Hi these are not my bloods but was asking for a colleague who is not on medication..as only just investigating .. GP STATED bllods for thyroid is ok - but still feels terrible. So TSH 3.05 - 0.35 - 4.94
T4 13.1 - 9-19
No taking any meds ..
Thanks for your help with this. I.just want my colleagues to get the right care at the right time ...i didn't..so this is why I asked.
your colleague’s TSH is under the range for diagnosis but that doesn’t mean it won’t make them feel dreadful. I didn’t feel close to well until TSH was 1.5 (range up to 4.8 I think) at 5.5 I was like a zombie.
Ideally privately test with TSH T4 T3 and vitamins and supplement what is needed to optimal (Bs, D, folate, ferritin) . GPS don’t do all this amd labs often won’t do TSH even if doc requests it.
Some of the blood tests do antibodies too, this can help with diagnosis looking for TPO and TGAb tests. I get mine a Medichecks (more comprehensive more expensive) or monitor my health (NHS, bit cheaper, doesn’t do both antibodies just TPO). Get them to post results on the forum and folks will pile on with lives experience and suggestions
Your colleague will feel better if vitamins are upped even if diagnosis doesn’t happen for a while. But avoid multivitamins (poor qualities wrong combinations) and test first so they know what they are doing. 🌱
Perhaps your colleague can join our community themselves, there are so many questions to ask to get a full picture to be able to provide helpful answers.
You can see how confusing it can get when someone else posts on their behalf, the post you made reads as though you are asking for yourself :
My gp says
I feel cold
etc
How much levothyroxine are you currently taking
Did you get vitamin and thyroid antibodies levels tested as advised in previous post

On levothyroxine TSH should always be under 2
And essential to maintain OPTIMAL vitamin levels
