Thyroid-S Storage

To anyone who has used or are using thyroid-s currently, do the tablets come with cotton wool inside of them sealed like some supplements do?

I ask because I received my thyroid-s the other day, but I don't plan on using it for another couple of weeks at least ---- IF, it does have cotton inside, would it be best to remove this or leave it in if it's still sealed in its box ?

Thanks !

Inside the bottle there is a small bubble plastic fill to stop movement. I keep mine in the bottle with the top on inside the box.

Thanks! If it is just to stop movement, why do you leave it in?

Who knows I just do and have been doing so for over seven years. I keep mine with the lid on in the box and put them into my drawer.

They are presumably packed under controlled conditions ....you'd have to take the lid off to remove the cotton wool... that will let air in ~ air contains moisture ~ potentially more moisture than the controlled atmosphere they were packed in (unless you live in the desert)

So the best way to maintain them is to leave them unopened until you need to use them , Why do you want to take the cotton wool out anyway ?

opening a sealed jar with low humidity content in a more humid environment (even for just a few minutes) will increase the humidity level inside the jar .

I suppose i wasn't thinking about the controlled environment it was probably packed in. My thinking was, the wool was to stop the tablets moving ONLY, but might have allowed moisture in so should be removed as soon as you receive them. But i guess its probably ok anyway until i remove the lid for the first time.

Just opened new bottle yesterday. As usual, at the top was the little wodge of bubble wrap plus a dessicant sachet. I was about to throw the bubble wrap insert away, when I knocked the bottle and tablets flew out. So I keep it in, to keep the tablets in. (Easy enough to get 3 out, but don't want 500 flying everywhere.) As the aim is to keep the tablets moisture-free, maybe cotton wool can absorb too much moisture from the air when the bottle is opened. At least bubble wrap doesn't hold humidity.

Thanks! Never used thyroid-S before so I just assumed they used cotton. I guess a dessicant satchet is a better idea since it would absorb the oxygen WITHOUT excess moisture like you say

A desiccant sachet doesn't absorb oxygen! Just water. :-)
