Subclinical Hashimotos?

Hello

I’ve just completed new blood tests and seen my GP. I will attach my blood results and wondered if anyone can shed light on what is going on.

Medical history - age 53 yrs

1986 diagnosed Glandular Fever

1990 diagnosed chronic constipation (30 years later still the same)

1993 diagnosed ME / Chronic Fatigue (undiagnosed thyroid issue as GP said tests were borderline for hypothyroidism)

2017 diagnosed with Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria (now moved into to angioedema)

2020 diagnosed Cervical Spondylosis (arthritis in neck)

2021 diagnosed Stage III Bowel Cancer (treatment completed and so far all ok)

2022 Hip related pain poss due to cancer radiation treatment

2023 Currently suffering terrible muscle bone aches stiffness, extreme sensitivity to cold (freezing hands feet) hair loss, extreme fatigue, sore throat/hoarse, brittle nails, dry skin all over, cracked heels. TSH elevated FT4 low, TgA elevated, TpO low, lymphocytes v low, neutrophils v low, white blood cells low,

My thyroid has been tested many times over the years as I have shown hypo symptoms but TSH was always just hovering so never any action taken but I have felt that perhaps there was an underlying issue. I certainly have a strong autoimmune problem consistently and, in fact, the urticaria has now changed to angioedema where my tongue and throat and lips swell and I have an EPI pen (have never had to use it yet). Obviously my most serious illness has been Stage III bowel cancer which I was lucky to survive the last 2 years. My urticaria (huge weals that came up all over my body) has now been joking by angioedema where my tongue lips and throat swell. It is idiopathic as they can find no obvious cause although I wonder if it is mast cell related.

I’d really like to feel better as it’s been a rough few years and don’t want to be fobbed of by GPs who misdiagnosed my cancer for an entire year which ended up with me doing my own tests and luckily catching my cancer on the very cusp of going to Stage IV which would have been terminal. As you can see I’ve done my own private bloods prior to going to GP and she has suggested repeating these in 6 weeks.

Any help or advice would be so appreciated! Further photos of bloods in replies below ⬇️

What were actual thyroid antibodies results

Was this test done early morning, ideally just before 9am, only water between waking up and the test

This all helps give highest TSH

Please add actual results for vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Are you on dairy free or gluten free diet

Bloods taken at 8am - will post ferritin etc results below. Am not on any specific diet yet but reading up about gluten free. Have just started taking Selenium, Glutathione, Detoxadine (Iodine), Zinc, D3, high dose pro and prebiotic, Magnesium and Costisol Manager and AdrenaCalm

My results also show my Oestrogen levels are in my boots despite taking replacement HRT (am perimeno) so may have uptake issues

NHS currently reluctant to diagnose autoimmune thyroid disease (hashimoto’s) on just high TG antibodies

Significant minority of Hashimoto’s patients only have high TG antibodies

Request ultrasound scan of thyroid

Or organise one yourself (£100 Approx)

Will do, I understand there may also be a correlation between thyroid and lymphocytes and wbc so am looking into that too. Ideally I’d like not to be on any medication as I’ve had quite enough medication over the last two years so had been reading about gluten free and dairy so will try one at a time to test effectiveness.

I felt a bit concerned when I read high TG antibodies can indicate cancer, particularly because my TPO antibodies came back normal in October. Had a private test in January, which only tested for TG antibodies and they came back high, along with slightly out of range TSH and normal T4. Referred to endocrinologist who did a physical examination and diagnosed me with Hashimoto’s. No ultrasound was done though :/

many many Hashimoto’s patients have high TPO and high TG antibodies

Some Hashimoto’s patients only have high TG antibodies

TG antibodies frequently reduce as TSH reduces on levothyroxine

You can organise your own ultrasound £100 Approx if you want to
