Is Medichecks the best one to use and do they still do their discount for thyroid tests?
Is there any other recommended?
For my last 2 tests I used Monitor My Health which I have to say is the cheapest ever at £29 but its the NHS one and I believe is accessible by your GP and I don't see why I should be subsidising them lol. They've already stolen my very expensive cortisol saliva test because they won't do them.
Hope everyone is doing ok

I personally use Medichecks because I need a blood draw. Blood draw is also more reliable for some of the vitamins that don't always seem to work with the finger prick tests.
I'm not sure if NHS GP's can see MMH results. Hope someone else can answer that.
It's not that they are better, the result will be the same eiher way, just sometimes with the finger prick tests the blood dries out too much for them to test it so the test fails.
but its the NHS one and I believe is accessible by your GP and I don't see why I should be subsidising them lol.
This is incorrect. This has come up before so I communicated with MMH as follows:
I have been having a discussion with someone I know - we both use Monitor My Health for our thyroid testing. She says you have shared her results with her GP and I said it's not possible because your privacy policy doesn't allow you to share any personal data with a third party.
Can you please tell me who is correct, she is convinced that you have passed the results on to her GP. Is there any way this could happen or is the information available somewhere where the GP may have access to it?
and their reply:
Thank you for your email. Under no circumstances would we share our customers results with a GP. Customers are able to choose to share them with the GP and can do this by creating a PDF document when they log on to their monitor my health account; print it off and share it with their GP. If you friend is concerned about this, please ask her to get in touch with us so we can investigate what has happened in her particular circumstance.
I hope that alleviates any of your worries. If you have any further questions, please contact us.
As for subsidising them, they state
We are simply looking to offer you a better value for money regulated NHS alternative to other online ventures. We are a not for profit NHS fund raising initiative.
Considering the problems the NHS face I personally am happy for the little bit of profit that's made from me using them to go to the NHS rather than a private company, plus they're cheaper than the others and some doctors are happy to accept the results as they're an NHS lab where they'd not accept the others.
Many thanks!!! I've used them twice already and have no complaints - except I can't find a print option for them (could be me 🤷) but I keep a complete folder so have to copy and paste. Such hard work lol
I found one way of printing in the FAQs (screenshot attached below) but I had trouble printing the results (I didn't get a pdf) so I emailed them and a very helpful chap was communicating with me giving me instructions. I was asked what I was using - PC, laptop, etc, and in the end there were two ways of doing it.
1) Make sure you click on the page, but not on the graph, then press Control + P, on a PC you should get a print preview, this gives all pages of results, not just your new one
2) You can right click and there should be the option to take a screenshot, this should be your latest results, then download (choose visible or page - page gives all 3 thyroid tests) and then go to Downloads, choose the saved screenshot and print.
I use a PC so if you've got any other device it may be different.
Just to say, I have tried that on macOS. It works the same (though you use Command+P).
On macOS, I have the option to produce a PDF by changing the printer to Save to PDF:. This will vary by macOS version (Ventura), browser (Firefox) and printers installed.
