Good Morning, I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season.
I am looking for some advice before I speak to my endo in January.
Approx 4 months ago my T4 levels were low. My levo was increased from 50 to 75 mcg daily.
I will post my blood results from last week too, my T3 is now higher than the range.
4 months ago : Thyroid meds:
Midnight = 10mcg Liothyronine + 50mcg Levothyroxine
Noon = 10mcg Liothyronine
Blood results (no levo for 24hrs + no lio for 12 hrs)
TSH = 0.05 Range (0.27-4.20)
T4 = 10.4 Range (12-22)
T3 = 6.7 (3.1-6.8)
Current Thyroid Meds:
Midnight = 10mcg Liothyronine +75mcg Levothyroxine
Noon = 10mcg Liothyronine
Blood results (no levo for 24hrs + no lio for 12 hrs)
TSH = <0.05 Range (0.27-4.20)
T4 = 15.5 Range (12-22)
T3 = 7.7 (3.1-6.8)
I feel tired, unmotivated and get a racing heart from the smallest of activity.
Any advice on what I should try next is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Elsaldo x

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription
Same brand T3
suggest you reduce 2nd dose T3 by 5mcg and retest in 6-8 weeks
Meanwhile ESSENTIAL To test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least annually
When were these last tested
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Hiya
Yes I always get Aristo and Roma as both are lactose free.
I take my usual supplements of Vit D(K2) spray and iron spray, magnesium and a brazil nut (lol)
Also have hypoparathyroidism and take alphacalidol for that too.
I will need to get vit levels checked again but my Vit D was 84... 1 month ago.
Thanks slowdragon, I shall ask to reduce my second dose.

So are you currently on dairy free diet too
And gluten free?
Yes will need new prescription for 5mcg capsules as you can’t (easily) split capsules
You might find it better to take 3 x 5mcg doses T3 spread through the day at roughly equal 8 hour intervals

Hi, no I am not dairy or gluten free, I take lactose free meds as I was getting a rash with all others.
Yes I will ask for the 5mcg doses and try spacing it out as you said.
Do you know the cost differences? I am on 10mcg capsule lio as surgery said tablets were more expensive.
Thanks again

3 x 5mcg capsules will be a little more expensive than 2 x 10mcg capsules
But cheaper than 10mcg or 5mcg tablets (which aren’t lactose free)
3 x 5mcg capsules = £165
2 x 10mcg capsules = £130
1 x 10mcg and 1 x 5mcg = £120
Post I made with current prices

Are you still taking vitamin B complex
Did you remember to stop taking this 5-7 days before test
Are you still only on Aristo levothyroxine
Is T3 also lactose free
Have you had coeliac blood test done
Have you tried strictly gluten free diet or dairy free diet

FT4: 15.5 pmol/l (Range 12 - 22)
Ft4 only 35.00%
You might eventually need slight increase in levothyroxine
But only change one thing at a time
Suggest reducing T3 first - retest after 6-8; weeks
Then try splitting as 3 doses and retest again
