As you have Lipodema you need to try absolutely strictly gluten free and dairy free at least 6-12 months minimum

i can do most things but cutting out gluten and dairy isnt one of them...i dont eat much of either to start with to be honest.

Have you stopped multivitamins

Now taking vitamin D and vitamin B complex instead?

That’s obviously your choice if not going to trial strictly gluten free diet or dairy free diet

I don’t think anyone would choose to be on gluten free/dairy free.

But if you got extraordinarily good results it might inspire you to carry on

Last thyroid test results showed Ft4 was too low

Have you increased levothyroxine by 12.5mcg daily or by 25mcg since this test

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Also shows ferritin too low as well

Have you increased iron rich foods in your diet

no change as the gp wanted me to continue on dose untill ive seen an endo.

suggest you increase levothyroxine yourself then. Initially by 12.5mcg and retest in 6-8 weeks

There is a Facebook group for women with lipoedema, the name of which escapes me (sorry). Many members seem to have success with a very low carb diet. Some exclude gluten and dairy and some don't. Some have diagnosed hypothyroidism, some don't. As I understand it, a variety of hormones can influence the condition, including the insulin response to sugar, grains and dairy. You may want to spend a period of time trialling different combinations of dietary regime and being quite methodical about it. Along the way, you could hit on the way of eating that suits you best.

About 30% of lipodema are hypothyroid

I was EXTREMELY sceptical that dairy free would be effective. Been utterly astonished at speed of change…..only been dairy free since mid August ……gluten free since 2016 …..but that didn’t seem to affect lipodema…..but did dramatically improve mobility

You can't trial HRT for 2 weeks and give up because something flared up. You need to give it at least 6 months to settle down and for your body to sort it's hormones out as a result. I suggest you try that again as HRT can help a hypothyroid person find better balance. Our hormones work in cohort, not seperately.

If I gained 7lb in just 2 week even my gp advised against it...I can't afford to gain anymore weight half a stone doesn't seem to bad if you are 9 stone

you need to get Ft4, Ft3 and vitamins at good levels first

Ft4 and Ft3 at least 50-60% through range

Adding HRT frequently results in needing further increase in thyroid hormones

The doctor said she would increase my levo to 125mcg if I stopped the tiromel but in experience levo alone just seems to make me feel lousy...so I said I'd prefer to keep taking t3....bit strange but that's how it went

Because a GP will only look at TSH

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Ft4 below range

So levothyroxine dose too low

Ft3 was falsely low as you left too long between last dose T3 and test

You might need to slightly reduce dose T3 by 1/4 tablet……after next test

I gained fluid when I replaced my flagging hormones as my lack of T3 just meant it turned into mucin, perhaps an adjustment to your thyroid meds needed?

HRT made me really unwell. Sadly doesn’t suit everyone so I’ve gotta hit the linseeds and pumpkin seeds & sage tea instead. My dose was just too low, the symptoms were hypo but confused by first GP as peri menopause. Almost all resolved now on 125mcg.

There are many different HRT products. They are not all equal. I've tried a lot of them. Some of them really didn't suit me. But the beauty of going to an HRT clinic is that you can work with an experienced clinician who just keeps trying until you find the one for you. I now have that. But it took a lot of work to get there. My mum has fractures in her feet just by standing on them (and she's very light) because of raging osteoporosis. I do not want my bones to crumble so I'm planning to take oestrogen forevermore.

your clinic sounds amazing, where is this? I’ve been advised that as my cycle is still cycling it’s probably too early and all the symptoms are gone now Thyroid is better replaced but I worry about osteoporosis in the future. Dad has Osteopenia, Mum broke both wrists in her 70s. But glad that thanks to this forum my awful Vit D results are improving with K2 and magnesium 🌱🦋🌱

I go to the Newson Clinic in Stratford upon Avon. There’s a very good web site and free app by the clinic to help women help themselves through peri menopause and menopause. You could have a look at those. The app helps you to track your cycle through peri.
